so the 3 founders of the legion of superheroes are saturn girl, cosmic boy, and lightning lad, right? 3 fuckin human-looking white alien kids. obviously this could use some change, and it’d be nice to see the 3 most prominent members of the entire legion of superheroes as characters of colour.

so what do they do? they half-ass it and rely on stereotypes. the serious-business cosmic boy is now asian. the loud, obnoxious, fighty, angry, electricity-powered lightning lad is a black man now. and saturn girl, previously the white blonde mediator between the two, is still a white blonde beacon of innocent born-yesterday girlhood.
