Historically, when performing long, repetitive tasks like churning butter or weaving cloth, people would sit together and tell stories. Folk stories, fairytales, and even stories about mysterious ape-like figures living in the forests. So, yes, pioneer women did listen to podcasts about bigfoot while churning butter

they probably talked shit about that harlot from across the prairie

They also sang. Weaving songs, churning songs, laundry songs, etc. are the traditionally female equivalent of typical male work songs like shanties, mining chants, etc.

And songs about the thot who lives across the river

But someone walked into work that morning, clocked in, and was told it was their job to go put the birthday hat on the Komodo Dragon.

honestly shoutout to any brown girl or boy who has managed to escape the toxicity of their household and form a better life for themselves. people will call u selfish but I see u

Like for real so many Indian parents talk about the duty of every child to take care of their parents and bring the family a good name, while they don’t take care of their kids and bring a bad name, while blaming the child.

So kids should do their duty while parents get a free pass. Narcissism is a hell of a drug.

And this is applied to everyone!

I live in a fundemental Christian home and I can’t even begin to tell you how toxic this environment is.

This is specifically for us south asians, make your own fucking post and stop taking everything from us.

Cry about it. There’s plenty of POC who are subject to toxic Christian standards.

Get the fuck off your high horse and realize this applies to anyone who is put under any toxic stress.

The fact that you even tried to erase an entire group of POC who is subject to those standards literally proves your privilege.
