Mr. Beetle x Lobelia
Here's my selfship with Mr. Beetle (from Don Bluth's Thumbelina) 🌷🪲
My self insert/oc's name is Lobelia. She's a 23 year old fairy who was born with a strange condition: she's the only fairy in the valley who has wings during nighttime but during daytime her wings banish. Nobody knows why or how, she was simply born like this.
Because of her condition, this has pushed her to work day and night to keep up with her tasks and duties as a nature fairy, becoming a workaholic and barely letting herself have any free time for her own to go out to dance, sing or simply hang out with other fairies. One night a storm hits her valley and sends her flying far away from her home until she lands unconscious somewhere in the forest.
Much later, on that same night, Mr. Beetle finds her unconscious and takes her to his home to shelter her until she wakes up. Once she does, Beetle greets her and immediately starts complimenting her beauty and insists for her to stay with him. Lobelia, kindly rejects him but Beetle suggests she should at least wait until the weather is better for flying, and with that, Lobelia hesitantly agrees to stay with him until then.
Days and weeks go by and they get to know more about each other and develop actual true romantic feelings for each other. (Oh yeah, slow burn, baby 😎✨)
