It’s been absolutely awesome to watch Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza work together. Especially, here, in the final battle. For each take they rile each other up, witch cackles galore.

I am so grateful for what Kathryn and Aubrey brought to this show and the relationship they created throughout each episode. (X)

It's the fact that Nicky was never going to live because he was the son of death itself. Rio knew all that she could do was give Agatha more time with him and, when he died, she suffered that loss too. I don't think Agatha sees that because to her the person she's looking at is death, the person that took her son away. I like to think that Rio spent time with him too, he followed Rio with no hesitation because he knew that was his other mother. He didn't look afraid or suprised, like he knew her. He didn't know Rio as death, he knew her as his mother.

My theory is that since Agatha is a witch who absorbs powers she involuntarily absorbed those of her son when he was in her womb, that’s why he didn’t have any power (like Wanda’s sons) and that’s why he was born sick. I don't think that Nicky died because he was the son of Death but because of Agatha's power and that's why when Rio asked her why she made others believe she had killed/sacrificed Nicky she said "the truth is much worse" because in my opinion Agatha knew it deep down and felt guilty
