Here, have some 1-5 minute animals drawins. Anyone who's taken one of Marshall Vandruff's animal drawing classes will recognize a couple of these pictures <3 

I'm trying to consciously to think about SHAPE like an animator. I really want to reach the level of someone like Ignacio, or someday even Nico Marlet's shape language. I seem to be hitting a brick wall where abstracting shape is concerned, but I believe I just haven't struck that metaphorical subterranean spring yet. Anybody got any tips? ;w;

I realize that I don't update this thing much; I'm trying to change that! My personal blog has been running on an extensive queue for a good few weeks; it's just so easy to reblog stuff, but not so easy to scan traditional drawings as often ;A;

So Animal Day was today! Have some eagle owls. She was totally more chill than the leopard, who was SO RILED UP all day that it was hard to get anything more refined than a few gestures from him. I totally did a lot more drawings, but I can't bird anatomy; that instantly reduced my satisfactory sketches to a minimum from the get-go, but it was still great! The poor owl was so stressed out over the leopard's presence. When she saw him, she made sure to vehemently clack at him and then tried to fly away XD

Also, Stephen freaking Silver (notable works include Kim Possible and Danny Phantom) lectured at LCAD today. His presentation was DUH BOMB and just rife with great information. I really respect the guy's development as an artist! He's SO DIVERSE, and I honestly cannot even begin to comprehend the deft versatility of his character designs. Totally inspiring! He also had an adorable accent that made the whole lecture so much better. Just in all a cool dude with an amazing attitude! What I would give to work with the guy one day.

This was the roo that was featured at Animal Day held by LCAD on April 2nd. He was really interesting to draw despite moving around so much. 

There was also a serval, but he didn't like to move or pose much. Drawing it didn't result in anything special.
