Sunday Spotlight: Umbreon

Umbreon is a Poison-type Pokemon. The bright coloration and markings on an Umbreon's pelt warn other Pokemon and people of the toxic secretions that coat its fur. Areas of bright purple denote the highest concentration of toxins. This manifests in its Poison Point ability, which often poisons those who come in direct contact with it. Umbreon can also possess the Stench ability, as these secretions tend to smell quite strongly and repel other Pokemon.

As a result of their multiple defense mechanisms, domestic Umbreon are often not allowed to roam outside of their Pokeballs in human settlements. However, a cautious and thorough bath will temporarily wash away both the toxic coating and foul odor of an Umbreon. This is considered a necessary precaution when entering an Umbreon in a non-combat focused activity such as a Pokemon Musical or a Contest.
