Further Thoughts re: Self-Hating Vampire Whumpee:
- They don't need blood to live, so they don't drink it. They don't drink any substitute either. They just go hungry. They get a little weak and dizzy sometimes, but they can handle it.
- They expected the thirst for blood to go away on it's own, but of course it doesnt. So they start to carry around a little flask of holy water.
- When they get an unexpected Craving, they excuse themselves and scurry off to the bathroom to pour holy water over their hands and arms
- When that isn't enough they start drinking from the flask
- They also start wearing a rosary, under their shirt. It leaves burns around their throat and a cross shaped mark over their heart.
- They force themself to stay awake during the day, even though they can't really sleep at night. They do fine in the sun, really. If they take it easy and don't try to get anywhere too fast.
- They don't need sunglasses. Vampires see better than humans anyway, so they're just evening the playing field. Yes their eyes are supposed to look like this.
- Their fangs never stop trying to grow back.
- They wake up early every morning to file off any overnight growth. It always hurts. There's never any blood, though. There hasn't been blood anywhere in their body for months now.
- Before they go out for the day they kiss their rosary.
- There's reassurance in the way it always burns their lips.
OH BONUS:
Whumpee has bone-white hair. Their skin is pink in places and sickly-white in others. They don't have fangs, though their canine teeth are a little weird looking. Their eyes are dull and cloudy and colorless, though the whites are a splotches pink. They're lips are always cracked and tender.
Their (human) friends assume this is just What Vampires Look Like, until they finally meet another vampire, who doesn't have any of those features. The new vampire basically just looks like... a person. They're a little pale, maybe. They definitely have fangs.
Options:
- Friends immediately confront whumpee, who tries to play it off, getting more and more distressed until finally their friends try to take away their flask, maybe even take their shirt off to see the damage underneath—and whumpee realize they've made themself too weak to fight their friends off.
- The new vampire is chill and friendly, so the friends describe whumpee's condition, while the new vampire listens with Mounting Horror at what a ruin whumpee has made of themself.
