So with the new Dynamaxing feature in Pokémon sword and shield everyone’s focused on what happens if you dynamax a wailord but my I turn your attention to cosmeom for a second. A friend’s group chat points out Cosmeom should probably be feared a little more and even did the math.
So we can deduct from watching the Pokémon direct that every Pokémon would end up dynamaxed to about the same size, because grookey and eldegoss are not the same size but dynamaxed they are. So for science sake let’s say they all grow to about 10 meters in height. Cosmeom’s only a tiny .1 meter in height, but weighs an astonishing 2204.4 pounds. Since it’s a sphere in shape you can figure out jut how much dynamaxed cosmeom would weigh. Assume it’s volume is 0,000,524m^3 so density is 1908 metric tons per meter cubed. To reference the densest element we know of called osmium at a density of 2259 so it’s already getting kinda close to this this. Scaling this up to a 10 meter tall would give it a volume of 523,6 cubic meters and a weight of 999028.8, almost a million metric tons. SO TO SUMMERISE THIS FUCKER COULD TEAR SPACE TIME. BUT ASSUMING IT DIDN’T THIS GIGANTIC BALL OF UNREALISTIC MASS WOULD STILL MOST LIKELY NEED 9.8 GIGAJOULES A SECOND TO KEEP IT FLOATING A METER AWAY FROM THE GROUND THAT GOD FORBIT IT TOUCH BECAUSE IT WOULD PROBABLY BE ABLE TO GENTLY BRUSH EARTH AND TURN IT TO DUST. THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK.
Wrong. When a pokemon grows monumental in size because of dynamaxing they cant just create “matter”. Get it? Its like when you stretch out a baloon (but i guess in this sense without the air????). Its big but its not heavy, because of the theory of equal proportion!!!!!!! Therefore, when a Grotkey grows 10 metres tall its density is equivalent to the density it had before. So the density of small and large grotkey are the same, but big grotkey’s volume is bigger. So??? What does that mean????
Density = mass / volume
Lets say D = 100 m=100 v=1
So if suddenly v equals 100 then m equals 1
It means the weight of the big grotkey is LESS than the small grotkey?!?!?!?!
I was WRONG. the only thing you cant change is the mass. So big grotkey DOES weigh as much as small grotkey, but big grotkey’s density is smaller since its volume is larger. And yeah, volume has an inverse relation to density and all that. Blah blahblah.
I’m not saying the density changes I’m just saying there would for sure be more of it because of the increase of suface are and then the mass would also be larger by that standard. There’s evidence that a Pokémon doesn’t just “inflate” in the Direct, as every time a Pokémon is dynamaxed it does actually crash into the ground as if the mass has increased.
Mass is the measue of the garavity’s pull on you. This is actually what we use to weigh people now adays. The density would stay the same throughout The Pokémon but because we have more volume but the mass/weight would change. Say we make a small jello and a big jello. You have to use more jello mix for the big one but it’s still the same density. So density is the same but because the big jello has more mass we have a hevier jello. That’s what’s going on here. I’m not saying cosmeom would be more dense, just that it would have more surface area, mass, and more of that same density. It’s already heavy as shit. Give that fucker more mass and we’re all dead.
