It’s Mermay and somehow I’ve only ever been able to draw mermaids in the context of pollution.

Every time I take my dogs to the beach, it’s covered in trash and dead leopard sharks, rays, and sturgeons. We are witnessing mass extinction in real time.

I wanted to draw these two for so long and given request from @teryster for mermay stream gave me just the juice i needed! The soft angst for these two!

Achilles is seahorse (leafy seahorse) because they are the kind who find partner for a lifetime :’)))

The idea of this au what I thought later on is that Achilles wanted to go on land only because he wanted to experience what it’s like (the food, live there, the sun shining atd), but the deal to have human legs was not to kill anyone on the land.

Which Achilles was taking very seriously yet the war was starting and there he met Patroclus. They get close and Achilles now more wanted to keep not to kill anyone to stay on the land with Petroclus- however how much we want drama Petroclus got killed (at least that how it look like) and what did Achilles done when he saw/found out? You know what my fellas, you know what. :))

Achilles ended back in the sea and Patroclus alive, but will they find each other again?
