Ember telling Nesta that she will find her way just breaks my fucking heart because the first half of the book is all Nesta in her element, doing as she pleases with her bestie Azriel, still doing what’s in the best interest of her family and just truly being her absolute best self and then the SECOND she’s back in the IC dynamic Ember is just watching her get berated for making a decision that we all know Feyre would also make. Like clearly Nesta expressed to Ember her turmoil over all of this and it makes me want to hug her and also slap Cassian.

It’s so tragic to see the dichotomy in one book of Nesta at her absolute best killing a fucking Asteri and then she goes HOME and … that …

I just … I have to dream that there’s something else for Nesta. A real home. Real acceptance.

You know what I’m still pissed about in acowar? Tarquin telling Feyre not give him orders for his court and then Rhys and Feyre getting all pissy over it. Like bitch you are not high lord and lady of summer. You handle your forces and politics in the night court. And Tarquin had every right to be angry. I mean they stole from him and he was completely correct in saying Feyre’s destruction of Spring didn’t just affect Tamlin. It affected Spring’s people and obviously Summer’s. Yes it was Hybern’s choice to attack but Feyre letting her emotions cloud her judgement made that possible.

Also the “she is high lady she may do as she wishes” is bullshit. She can do what she deems best for her court not boss around the other high lords. I’m sorry but Tarquin was right in saying she cannot give orders to high lords. That’s how a war starts.

Them belittling Lucien is also an example of how stupid they are.

They cant even treat one person who came to their court with some respect how are they gonna “unite the fey and humans” without looking down on them.

I know they helped summer when hybern attacked ( even though springs destruction helped hybern move his forces in and hmmm who was it that destroyed Spring? ) but I hated that tarquin rescinded the blood rubies.

Let’s not forget attacking another ruler of a different country is grounds for war and yet when F/eyre attacks Beron (hitting the LoA in the process who is an abuse victim), It’s awesome and there are no consequences nor does she feel guilty/apologize for hitting LoA in the process. Same with A/zriel attacking Eris, another person from a different court, would have been grounds for repercussions. But again- no consequences. C/assian destroying public property of another court while being a high ranking official is also grounds for war. But again- no consequences.

I don’t think they even know what the word diplomacy means.

All of this is actually valid.

While I love Rhys and Feyre but SJM doesn’t handle politics in her books well. She bends it to whatever will be convenient to Feysand or the Night Court.

She constantly mentions how Rhys is the most powerful High Lord, but in the text it seems to me that Helion is. Even Rhys looks up to Helion and respects him. Power isn’t just raw power but also influence.

I wish Sarah didn’t make every political conflict/situation convenient for Feysand. Let there be consequences for each of their actions, that makes the story and the action much more compelling.

If she ever pulls off the High King plot, let it be Lucien, Helion or he’ll even Tarquin but not Feysand. Especially not by using Nesta’s made weapons.

Underrated scene in ACOSF: when Nesta wakes up to find Cassian sleeping in her room because he guarded her all night. The way she literally started tearing up because she felt like a princess from the fairytales she used to read and hadn’t thought anyone would ever care about her the way that Cass does...yea I fucking cried

How the hell is Rhys the most powerful High Lord when Lucien’s magic comes from Autumn AND Day? Like isn’t Feyre considered really powerful because she has magic from all seven? So should Lucien be second most powerful because his dad is the High Lord of Day and and his mother, the Lady of Autumn, comes from a powerful Autumn Court line?

Now I know the romantic side of Acosf let everyone down.. and YES EVERYONE because let’s face it, it was shit. There’s was like 1% of romance out of it? But that’s a story for another day..

So we desperately needed to hold to our next ship but the worst that came out of ACOSF is actually all of these fandom wars.

Elriel and Elucien have been minding their own business for the past four years.. we never had any major issue between us. We love Elain, we love Azriel and we love Lucien. It’s a fucked up situation because the three of them deserve better. But we got along, we have open debates, good comebacks, we respected each other so far.

Everyone is entitled to ship, love, hate, dismiss, or do whatever you want with your opinion when it comes to fictional characters. But some of yall are straight up bullies and frankly quite childish.

Gwynriel you guys showed up out of fucking nowhere and mostly because you hate with passion Elain. Admit it, is the only reason you like the ship. Because explain to me why out of one or two interaction you decide to ship them but never paid the same attention to Mor and Emerie?

In fact.. I dont see Emerie getting the same love and support as Gwyn does. Why is that? Is it because of Azriel? Or is it because she’s white? Or is it because she’s not into women? But I’ll leave this conversation for another day because it needs to be addressed too.

Elriel are acting up because you guys started in the first place. We’ve been listening to all of your “I hate Elain, she’s useless, she’s boring, all she does is cooking, she’s this, she’s that.. blah blah”.. and we let it go because, fine, you’re entitled to your opinion.

But when you straight up bully people, start making up fake canons to support your claims, literally stalk other people feeds to push your point, and get angry when people dont agree with you.. then that’s when we have a problem.

Funny of you to point fingers a the whole Gwynriel fandom when most of Elriel shippers in Twitter have been bullying people off the platform who are doing nothing but chill and are getting automatically attacked at the mention of Gwyn’s name and/or the Valkyries, people who do not even ship Az and Gwyn together, people and friends who have become scared to even tweet about the things they enjoy expecting the first hateful reply of an Elriel bully.

I’m not gonna say Gwynriels are saints because I’ve also seen aweful comments coming from them in Tiktok. Both parts of the fandom have contributed to making the ACOTAR fandom a toxic environment and experience to everyone. But don’t come and blame it all on us, saying we started it because we hate Elain.

I know a lot of Gwynriels who love Elain and are waiting for her character to finally develop in her story, others that have come to dislike her for her actions in ACOSF and are rightfully and respectfully calling her out for them, and others that just don’t care about Elain at all and that’s okay. Not everyone has to like Elain or Gwyn (or Az!) if they don’t want to. Not everyone hates on Elriel solely because they hate Elain. Most of those who I know dislike Elriel have come to do so because of the behavior and bullying of toxic fans. Just as I imagine the same happens with Gwynriel.

It’s not accurate to say all the toxicity bursted from this aweful ship war emerged exclusively from Gwynriels when half of the blame can be put into toxic Elriels too.

I know people always say that azriel is the hottest bat boy but ... cassian is right there. how do you read one single scene of him when he actually opens his mouth and speaks, take one look at his long hair, preferably in a man bun, and muscled body in fanart and think anyone else could be hotter than him. he got nesta. cassian literally got nesta. that alone makes him the hottest bat boy.
