Graduation
"Why are you nervous, man?" Alex asked.
"I'm planning to propose to Charlie," Nick replied, his voice shaking.
Alex's eyes widened in surprise. He knew that Nick had been in love with Charlie for a long time, but he never thought that he would actually propose.
"Wow, that's amazing," Alex said, giving Nick a pat on the back. "Are you sure you're ready?"
Nick nodded. "I've never been surer of anything in my life."
Alex smiled. "Then go for it, man. I'm sure he'll say yes."
Nick took a deep breath and walked over to Charlie, who was sitting at the bar. Alex watched as Nick got down on one knee and pulled out a ring from his pocket.
The entire pub fell silent as Nick declared his love for Charlie and asked him to marry him. Charlie's eyes widened in shock before he started nodding his head frantically, tears streaming down his face.
The pub erupted in cheers as Nick slipped the ring onto Charlie's finger, and the couple hugged each other tightly.
Alex felt a wave of happiness wash over him as he watched his two best friends embrace. He had never felt prouder of Nick for taking the leap and proposing to the love of his life.
