My family is suffering from real famine, your support helps save them
i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back
additionally, shop second hand when you can, second hand and thrift sites typically organize clothes by the cut and color. theyll be more affordable than a depop seller curating you a style to sell you
useful terminology for different kinds of clothing shapes :)
Me and who
me when my moots make a weird little post about absolute nonsense
Hello my dear friends, thank you for your support and interest in my campaign. I hope that you, my dear friends, will continue to support and help me and my children, even with a small amount. This small amount will save my children's bodies from death. Your donations are very, very important. ❤️ And now, at this moment, I ask you to stand by me once. My brother, you know that winter is coming. We need to buy a new tent to protect my children, Louay and Alma, from the cold weather and buy winter clothes. As you know, the prices are very, very expensive.
I ask for your help with me and to stand by me. Do not underestimate a small amount, such as 10 or 20 dollars. This small amount is enough to save my children from the bitter cold of winter.
#Your donation is the price of a cup of coffee that saves my children's bodies from the fierce war. Imagine with me that the situation is unbearable. Honestly, we are living in the most difficult days on earth.
#Please help my children from the war

I am Reem, a Palestinian from Gaza ،I am 50 years old, my husband passed away since I was not 23 years old at that time, leaving me with three children, the oldest of whom is Diana 5 years old, Issam 4 years old, and my youngest son Abdullah 10 months old, so I decided not to marry again and to devote my life to them, so I completed my education and worked as a teacher in a government school.
and raised my children until they grew up and got married and we remained until this moment in one house, supporting each other through the days in a family atmosphere and a house full of warmth and reassurance.
Until the war came and made us lose our home and the security we lived in,
as we were deported from the north of the Gaza Strip to the south, where there was no shelter except a dilapidated tent,
This is my daily struggle to light a fire and use it to prepare bread and cook food with the firewood and paper available to us in the absence of electricity and cooking gas
and I remained playing the role of father and mother until this moment and supporting my children and their children, as I also have three grandchildren.
But I regret to say that after more than a year of the ongoing war, I lost all the money I had saved and now we are in dire need of help in order to complete and provide the necessities of life, which have become competitive with the prices of gold here in the south of Gaza. We are suffering from a shortage of all the necessary necessities as there is no access to healthy food, clean water, shelter and medicine.
Every penny counts. Your support will make a huge difference in saving lives. I believe in the free world and your kind hearts.🌹♥️🌹

Day 1 of saving my boy [plural] from booktok:
SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES!!! NAME IN TAGS!!!
When you take a character who is written with the idea of being one full circle tragedy with some pretty heavy themes attached, you’d hope that the people who read about that character pick up on what the author was trying to put into place. Especially when the book itself was written with a strong idea in place of the kind of content and subject matter the author wanted to bring attention to or talk about. But then the people who do read the series ignore it completely for something else and criticize it for not fitting in with their taste in books.
A major part of one of the character’s (mi hijo <333) is the idea of “honour” in the way of morals and alignment with one’s own faith or beliefs. He’s written with a very family motivated base, almost to the point where when he mentions them or talks to them, it’s in a detached kind of manner where they are unreachable, they are beyond him, and they are a faith he has dedicated his life (literally and metaphorically) to. So his honour comes with his theme of truth; I will come back to this.
His character holds some of the heavier themes in the book, and they’re represented in the way Akos talks about himself or his perception of how he fits into everything around him. There’s a consistency with his self-loathing when he finds he fits in, and self-righteousness when he doesn’t. It’s two different extremes that perfectly communicate his character to the audience. He’s inconsistent, and he’s “adapting” to his environment is really him shifting what keeps him tethered to himself and his own identity. But it always relates back to saving or protecting his family and his people, it’s not a saviour complex because he sees himself as being a harbinger for the destruction that happens later in the series, it’s something he uses to hold on to that good part of him. The part, the honour, that is such a key part of him—not just as a character, but as a person.
There’s a very common scenario in the book where characters will think he’ll say or do things one way, and he does pretty much the opposite, which makes sense when you understand that his goal throughout the book isn’t to fit in (that’s the last thing he wants to do with the people who kidnapped him and murdered his father) but rather to stay true to his own self. His honour. He’s pretty one-track minded, and he’s willing to sacrifice pretty much everything in order to achieve his goal, everything but his honour.
One of the main quotes the book holds is “honour has no place in survival”. This is a constant throughout the series, and it particularly takes weight with Akos. The character who’s tied so closely to honour, whose name means “Falcon”, something that symbolizes honour, who is related to a quote that talks about throwing it away. He is honour, and in the finale of the second book, when this quote is mentioned again, Akos accepts that in order to save his people he has to disregard his loyalties, his honour, in order to save his people. The second book has a major part with Akos changing drastically as both a character and a person, losing himself in the process, and it’s quite convenient that it is due to this that he’s then shunned and considered a traitor by his country which he has been suffering for the whole series, which he saved from being actually entirely fucking destroyed and blown to bits. Just saying.
My precious boy and his big themes, I may lose my mind :3 <3333
this is mind boggling levels of insane. if you've never done needlefelting you can't quite comprehend how fucking difficult it is to not only make things so precise at such a small scale but like, not get the fibers tangled into literally everything else they interact with. and then ANIMATING it??? bro this is witchcraft
Day 0 of saving my boy from booktok:
Anyone who knows me (specifically that one buddy of mine: yeah, man, you know who you are) has definitely heard of my seething hatred for booktok and the way it builds books up like some kind of literary sonnet to change the world and then it turns out to be just straight up sex the whole time with nothing else. And how they’ll take some of the most thematically impactful novels and boil the characters down to what their version of peak literature is. See the sentence before that one for reference.
Now, I’m not saying they’re not entitled to their opinion, you can like what you like, even if it bothers me—it’s your life man, I ain’t gonna tell you how to live it—all I’m saying is there comes a point where you stare in absolute despair as they take a series you love and turn it into…well…booktok book stereotypes. This is me saving my series from misinformation and unprecedented hate because the wrong side of the media found it, because my boy doesn’t deserve that <333
The series itself is more sci-fi/fantasy than romance, though that is a subplot, however booktok has taken that subplot and turned it around so it sounds like the big idea, and maybe to people who are focused on that part of the book, it is. However, the plot isn’t centred around the romance like genuine romance genre novels would be, it is a subplot, so people building it up to sound like this huge part of the series when it comes second to a lot of bigger choices with the characters? It could very likely throw a lot of readers off who enjoy books with bigger romance plot points. Romance readers beware!!!: book two is not kind on your genre, the author actually quite violently rips the characters apart then stomps on them then sets them on fire and then rips them apart with her bare hands and then throws in an open ended bittersweet epilogue in the sequel and boom, the end.
Anyway, point is, what booktok advertises about the book is the bare minimum of only the parts that appeal to them. I don’t mind the relationship in the book because it works in a way in which you see these deeply flawed characters that are written so well and that find a way to move on and adapt, and if that means they fall in love then I accept with open arms that they fucking fall in love, but the point that bothers me is taking all the parts of their characters that matter away for stereotyped tropes or whatever.
This is not targeted at any one person in particular, I just don’t want to watch two masterfully crafted characters become a stereotype, especially ones like these two. Eueueueueghhhhrrghgg *chews my arm off and runs off into the sunset*
The mouthwashing fandom is so fucking weird dude it's like 3/4 of the fandom played the game with their eyes completely closed and the bottom half of the screen covered lest they see something that challenges their ideas. Like i can't stress how . Ghoulish it feels to see people making Anya fankids after you know. Playing the game . Like i think maybe you missed something here man maybe go play the game again instead of forcing the characters into incorrect quotes.
REAL. It’s like…every character is horribly mischaracterized. I saw someone talking about it and I thought they put it well: “For a game with such deep themes and messages, the fanbase does a really good job at ignoring all of it.” Like they amassed a fanbase where those messages aren’t read or understood?? It’s so unfortunate, the game is so good and so well written euughhhhh
We live in Gaza in the most difficult times. We do not have our daily living from vegetables. We have reached a point where the price of a kilo of tomatoes is $80, the price of a kilo of potatoes is $90, the price of a kilo of lemon is $80, and the price of a kilo of pepper is $70, which are not available and due to the lack of other vegetables and foodstuffs, we do not know what fruits look like because they are not available.
#Gaza - is dying of hunger😭

I like abruptly switching my vibe so hard it gives people genuine whiplash. Could be having just a nice conversation about flowers and then I—OH SHITE THA FUCKIN ICE—*eats shit and lays in family guy death pose while making ambient pained squealing sounds*
Or like crying at a funeral and I just; “They didn’t even thank our sponsor skillshare…”
This is probably not a true story.
