Gavriel snarls at him, still a little bit overwhelmed by Aedion’s harsh words.

“So… would now be a good time to ask what he’s going to call me, I mean if he settles he’s going to look younger than us but only slightly so I guess that you could be dad and I could be uncle Fenrys, yeah I like that. However, if he doesn’t settle, then dad might be a bit weird when he is old and grey and you are old, but less grey, so maybe, in that case, he can just call us by our first names I mean, we haven’t been his family so maybe we should just try and be his friends, blood doesn’t automatically make you family.”

“Fenrys, you don’t share blood with him anyway, you are not his family, why would he call you his uncle, besides at this rate I think he might just refer to me as Prick.”

He huffs and moves away to the bar to drink, Fenrys gets up to follow him, but Gavriel stops, waits for Fenrys to sit back down and finishes walking away.

Fenrys calls after him, “we need to talk about this, I think you are internalising your feelings and if you bottle them up they will just get worse. And how dare you say we are not family Gavriel. It hurts me that you feel alone in this world. We are brothers in arms and that is enough for me to be Aedion's uncle ok? Yeah bye to you too… Love you.”

I know right, Fenrys insisting the Cadre are more than just co-workers, but are like a family and trying to be Uncle Fenrys to Aedion, is my new HeadCanon

@togreblog YES! And Aedion totally accepting it. And when he and Lysandra get babies, they wouldn’t want to fall asleep until daddy tell them a new adventure of Uncle Fenrys.

This pains me bc y'all know Fenrys is already falling in love with Aelin at this point and he just kinda falls back when he scents her and he feels so much guilt and shame because Rowan is his buddy his mentor his friend but Aelin is wild and free and stirs his soul and he's falling so hard he loves them both so much and wants nothing but happiness for them and their kingdom and would never do anything to put them in jeopardy or come between them

but falling back still hurts

This scene is just heartbreaking. The short moment when all of Rhys fears and doubts come back (even if just for a second) and when he realised how far Feyre will go to save them all. When she is willing to even sacrifice their mating bond.

This is the only time we see Rhys drop his mask COMPLETELY while pretending to be the evil High Lord of the Night Court instead of his true self and it just hurts me so much that he literally couldn't keep playing his role for one more second when he realized he could lose Feyre, he was going to lose his mate and she was doing it protect her true family and just ugh GODDAMIT RHYS YOU'RE EVERYTHING
