Elriel Headcanons (kinda) Cause I'm Complete Trash

1. Elriel’s child(ren) are the most wonderful little Illyrians to ever exist. They’ve got silky brown/blonde hair like Elain and the most beautiful hazel eyes like Az. Even as toddlers they just want to help. Whenever Elain or Azriel is feeling stressed they fly over and sit on their shoulders until they felt better. Needless to say they’re fucking adorable. (Side note they are also amazing fighters like holy shit)

2. Azriel is head over heals in love with Elain right off the bat. He realizes this one day after Elain reports from the Spring Court crying about how she doesn’t love Lucien and how much she wants to but can’t and she doesn’t know what wrong with her. Az just holds her and let’s her cry. When she finally stops he kisses her forehead and tells her that just because they’re mates doesn’t mean she has to love him. Azriel winnows back to Velaris thinking about how bad he’s whipped.

3. Az does something silly to piss Elain off and it’s so stupid that it’s hilarious. It takes like a few months of them being passive aggressive to each other until Elain gets so fed up with the fact that Azriel won’t say sorry that the next time they meet for her to give him a report she simply walks up to him and kisses him. Like straight up kisses him. Of course they end up spending hours rolling around in the grass kissing and totally forgetting that they had things to do.

4. Rhys fucking ships it. After Mor died all he wants is for Azriel to be happy and he knows Elain is the one who makes him happy. Him and the Suriel have monthly meetings to discuss how perfect they are together. Trust me. It happens.

5. Elain is constantly making flower crowns for Az. She makes so many he has a whole room full of them. No joke, a whole room. Elain finds it one day and she cries because she never thought anyone cared about the crowns enough to even think of keeping them. Of course Az cares a shit ton. Also Elain teaches their child(ren) how to make them when they’re old enough, chaos ensues.

6. Azriel gets hurt really bad during the war. He’s winnowed back to Velaris almost immediately but it’s no use, he ends up going into a coma. Elain gets word of this while she’s fighting (cause she’s a BAMF of course she fights in the war) and she doesn’t waste time winnowing right to him. When she finds him comatose, well she’s very, very upset. She throws things, screams at and kicks any moving thing that crosses her path. She even ended up beating Rhys to a pulp. No one knows what to do because it’s totally out of character for Elain. Of course he wakes up eventually and Elain gives him the tightest hug Az has ever gotten. Cassian had to pry her off of him so Azriel could breathe.

7. Their love is beautiful. It’s quiet but unwavering and unconditional. Once they find each other that’s it. The whole Inner Circle knows that out of all of them they would last forever and always. They were just perfect for each other
