Soulmates? Yeah, right, pft. - Ch. 29

When you turn sixteen, and your soulmate's name doesn’t appear anywhere on your body that you can find, you figure you had to be the only person on the planet who didn’t have one. Most of the town shuns you, so you stick close to family. Your Aunt Ellen raised you after your parents died in a car crash when you were two, but what happens when the Winchesters return to town and buried secrets begin to come to light?

Pairing: Mechanic Dean Winchester x OC Reader/You

Word Count: 5946

Warnings: Dean being Dean, navigating being an empath, suggestive thoughts, longing, Fluff, Meeting Pamela (Yes, this is a warning), Bonding (This is something specifically for this AU. I do not see this as a "requirement" to fully connect to someone, but for this story, it is needed).

A/N: This is my non-Supernatural fic I'm attempting. Please let me know what you think, as I always love hearing from my readers.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 29

Waking up in his arms, wrapped in warmth and safety, was something you’d come to treasure. Dean was still sound asleep, his face softened by whatever peaceful dream he was lost in. His brow was unlined, lips parted slightly, and you couldn’t help but wish he could always look this at ease, free from worry.

With your arm over his waist, you felt the steady rhythm of his breathing, a comforting rise and fall that matched the quiet room. You wondered, not for the first time, what he might be dreaming about. Whatever it was, you hoped he could have dreams like them often if they brought him this sort of peace.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 28

The garage was filled with the familiar sounds of tools clanking, engines humming, and the scent of motor oil lingering in the air. Bobby and John were tinkering with a car on the far end, Garth was talking to Jack about a custom part, and Jodi and Ellen were off to the side, sipping coffee. Dean pulled the Impala into the yard as you looked out the window, the sun almost high in the sky. God, you both had missed the place so much over the past few months, but it hadn’t changed at all.

Halloween

Being a Touched wasn’t the bad part. It had its perks. However, it was your appearance that made life difficult. For the most part, you looked human. You just had cat ears, an elegant cat tail, and the canines. At least the fur on those matched your hair color. Most times, you had to hide those features from normal people. Occasionally, you could get away with not having to hide them, though. Like, if there was a comicon in town or if it was around Halloween. Sometimes, you would just tell people you liked to cosplay.

Word Count: 4438

Warnings: None that I can think of. Just something fun.

A/N: I had hoped to have this finished so I could publish it yesterday. But, here it is, finally finished.

----------------------------------------- It was a week before Halloween, and you were in a cozy little town, mostly investigating the random murders that had taken place. None of them seemed connected to each other. The motel you were staying at wasn’t the best, but you got the room half off since the guy behind the counter thought you were dressed up and really liked your ‘costume.’

----------------------------------------- Chapter 27

Your sudden scream and the feeling of utter dread hit Dean like a freight train, and he was instantly awake, trying to figure out what had happened. No one else was in the room, and the alarm wasn’t going off, but you were so terrified you were shaking. The moment Dean sat up and set his hand on your arm to hold you, images flooded his mind of your nightmare.

Even though you pushed for answers, neither Crowley nor Sam gave you any during lunch. The excuse they gave you was that you needed to eat first. So, you begrudgingly dropped the topic. Light things were talked about, but nothing that had to do with the case, the Vaughts, or who had taken you. Dean’s occasional touch on your knee helped keep you calm, which also helped keep him calm. The dynamic was interesting to you, how things worked with soulmates.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 25

Dean’s heart skipped a beat, his body tensing, but Crowley seemed delighted. “Ah, wonderful. Show them in.” A few moments later, familiar faces flooded the dining hall—Sam, Ellen, Jodi, Bobby, Mary, and John. Dean stood, his eyes immediately scanning Y/N as Ellen moved quickly to her, pulling her into a tight embrace, both women in tears. Ellen’s voice trembled with a mix of sadness and relief as she reassured her niece.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 24

The morning came too quickly for Dean, but at least he’d gotten to wake before she had, got to enjoy watching her sleep a little longer before the sun pulled her from sleep. The soft smile on her lips as she looked into his eyes made it all worth it when he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. She blushed a little before she climbed out of bed without saying a word. He knew her mind was instantly back on all her what-ifs, her doubts, and the emotions that she tried to keep at bay.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 23

Dean knew her birthday was coming up. She hadn’t mentioned it, but due to his contact with Sam, he’d been watching the days pass. He noticed her withdrawing more, spending more time alone in her room, as if she was trying to ignore it altogether. He could feel it in her, too, the tension, the longing to be around her family, and the feelings of never fitting in with those in the town.

Healing Blood Facts

Just like with the Cat Facts, this one is so you can understand what it's like to have healing blood and how it will affect the flow of the stories. I hope that this will help the stories be more immersive for you, as the reader, when you delve into this little world of mine that I intertwined with Supernatural.

Word Count: 1042

No warnings here. This is just infomation on how having healing blood works. If you have questions I haven't addressed, please share them in the comments. I don't always think of everything, and your questions, as the reader, help me think outside my little world.

----------------------------------------- Healing Blood Facts

So, having healing blood was interesting. There were things it worked on and things it didn’t. Plus, it made it so that some things still affected you normally while others did nothing for you, like some medications.

Two weeks after her nightmares began, things were quiet but odd. The cameras would catch movement here and there, but no signs of life—human or animal—ever showed up. She’d rewatched them and hadn’t seen anything. Dean had his suspicions, but without being able to see anything, he didn’t want to say anything that might worry her further. The girl really had been through enough.

----------------------------------------- Chapter 21

Dean had been giving her space for the past three days, even though it killed him to do so. It wasn’t that the bunker was small, but feeling her emotions made it feel far smaller than it really was. That was also what made the tension build as fast as it did, like a pressure cooker—every hour she spent avoiding him made the silence heavier, more suffocating. He’d looked for a moment when he could talk to her, but she never gave him one.

During the drive, Dean stole glances at her from the corner of his eye, his jaw clenched as he tried to focus on the road. The mere thought of that creep being anywhere near her made his grip tighten on the steering wheel, knuckles whitening. He wanted to tell her everything, to let the truth spill out and finally ease the gnawing ache in his chest. But he couldn’t. The weight of his secrets pressed down on him, each unspoken word like a stone in his gut. All he could think about was holding her, wrapping her in his arms, and chasing away the hurt he knew she carried.

Dean let himself relax as he held her, feeling the warmth of her body against his own. Her petite frame nestled comfortably in his arms as he absentmindedly rubbed small circles with his thumb on her back. I love you…, words he wasn’t quite ready to speak aloud drifted through his mind as he inhaled her scent, taking his mind back further. He knew he’d tell her everything one day, but for now, she knew enough.

Dean grabbed a pair of your jeans, one of your oversized comfortable shirts, and the flannel you always wore when you needed comfort, lying them on the bed next to you. But when you attempted to take your top off, not worrying about changing in front of him, especially after the bathroom incident, you winced at the pain in your wrists.

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the hallways as Dean, Benny, and Crowley rushed towards your room; spurred on by Dean’s sudden burst of intuition, he knew you were in trouble. One moment, he had been standing in the study with the others, and the next, a sense of foreboding had taken hold of him, driving him to take off toward your room for no apparent reason.
