In this video detailing his day one plans for education reform after disbanding the Department of Education, he explicitly states that he is going to enforce a “standard” where universities are required to “defend tradition and western civilization,” and will confiscate their entire endowment fund if they don’t meet this standard. He details that this will be done by dismantling all college accreditation institutions and replacing them with party loyal Republicans who will ensure universities are granting “fast-tracked” degrees to get people into the workplace.

This is, beyond an obviously fascist move to crack down on dissent and totally destroy the concept of academic freedom, in his own words, “crushing his enemies.” The left in this country retreated into academia for job security, but the humanities as we know them will be gone completely soon. This is not an overreaction, it is literally already happening. Most of my colleagues are already looking for new jobs. For what it’s worth, republicans are very good at identifying and crushing their enemies - the left as a whole has no choice but to exit the academies and enter the workforce. It’s on us to make him regret heightening this particular contradiction.

Our first displacement was from our home in the north of gaza to Khan Younis. Since then, we've been forced to move several times, each time narrowly escaping death. Illness and fear have been constant companions. We've lived through incredibly difficult times. During our first displacement, we had no shelter, not even a tent. We slept out in the open under a freezing sky. After the army withdrew from Khan Younis, we returned to our home, only to find it destroyed and uninhabitable. Despite its condition, we had no choice but to live in it.

Now, with winter approaching, the house desperately needs repairs—repairs that are costly. There are no windows, and the walls are riddled with holes from shrapnel and shells. To make matters worse, we have no source of income, and the rising cost of living has made survival even harder.

We’re trying to rebuild our lives, but the challenges seem endless.

One day in July, Anas had gone to inspect his home and their family home because they were displaced into a tent and were hoping to move back. However, when he arrived the occupation fired at him from planes and hit him directly on his feet. He was buried under rubble and Anas' injuries were extensive. Thankfully, his friend was able to rescue him and take him to the hospital, where only the bone in his leg was intact, and the remaining tissue was extensively damaged.

At the hospital, Anas received reconstructive surgery. The doctor performed 12 reconstructive operations, transferring tendons, connecting nerves, and building muscle and skin from transplants from his hip. He was spared from amputation thanks to the surgeon, however the damage to the nerves and tissues was unable to be completely treated due to lack of resources.

Although Anas has received some treatment and surgeries since his injury in July, he requires more extensive treatment abroad where they have the resources to treat him properly and possibly do an ankle transplant. Anas is a father to a young girl, and wants to be able to walk again and play with his daughter more than he can now.

Ahmed and Yazid, two boys who just turned 17 and 18 THIS YEAR, are now working as aid workers in al-Mawasi camp and the surrounding neighborhoods to distribute food and other essentials like oil, tent cloth, and baby formula. the iof has destroyed most of the signal infrastructure in their camp massacre a month ago, and so Ahmed and Yazid goes into active warzones EVERY DAY with no way to contact their mothers and fathers and no way to ask for help if they're in trouble. just to make sure people in the camp are safe and fed. I want people to start caring about Arab boys and men. People say so often "protect aid workers and the PRCS ambulance paramedics" well HERE IS YOUR CHANCE.
