Eternity- Titles

warnings; dehumanization
Theodore didn’t understand this man's insistence on a new name. Granted, he didn’t understand most of the things about them, but he hoped it would come with time. For now he handed his book filled with names in three different languages to the human, hoping that they spoke at least one.
After a while of looking at the book, the human handed it back to Theodore and spoke, “I like the name Bo?” Theodore nodded.
“Ok! Well then it’s very nice to meet you Bo.” The human looked confused but they didn’t say anything, and Theodore wasn’t about to pry. “Did the nurses treat you kindly?”
“Yes sir.”
“Oh, that’s ok, you don’t have to call me ‘sir’.” the human looked confused again, so he added; “it’s too formal.”
“What name do you prefer me to call you?”
“Just Theodore is fine.”
“Ok.” they looked uncomfortable, and Theodore understood. Most people were uncomfortable when he asked them not to use titles. They were scared of him. Of course they were, his uncle was a force to be reckoned with and people assumed the same of him.
He heard Bo shift and blinked. Had he been glaring? Hopefully not, he was trying to seem as kind as possible to calm down the humans nerves. Sadly it didn’t seem to be helping.

Amir didn’t know how to react to this master. The questions didn’t seem to be tricks, so he answered them quickly and honestly. But they didn’t want him to use titles. That was strange for a master, especially one of their status.
Hopefully they will be kind. Lord knows he needed a break.
this is the end of chapter one! I hope you enjoyed reading it so far.
