It’s really sad how way a group is marketed determines the rest of their lives. Because BigBang was given so much freedom, Taeyang’s marriage was celebrated and people even trended #RipYoungbaesVirginity. But because Super Junior always had crazy, possessive, entitled fans Sungmin’s marriage was an uproar and fans are still petitioning to kick him out of the group to this day. It’s really concerning for other huge groups when they get older like EXO and BTS. They might never be able to marry.

True to what I love about him, Sungmin refuses to be kept down! He has his own YouTube channel, is doing what he wants and is still producing music! If “fans” can’t respect him, he can do without them! There are plenty of ELF who still just want him to be happy.

over the course of my kpop fandom I have seen performances by 18 different artists from several companies, including my former bias group. many of those artists had things they were good at (synced dancing, powerful vocals, etc.), but not one could compare to the presence and dynamism of super junior live. other groups might perform on a stage, but only super junior truly owns it.

sure, this is a skill they’ve had 10 years to practice. but it’s not just experience. I’ve seen groups with fairly long careers who can’t hold a candle to even the sj of 6 or 7 years ago. the fact is that super junior are just really fucking talented in a way that no idol factory formula could ever have predicted or created. they have a unique ability to take the glaring imperfection of a haphazardly thrown together group of rejects and misfits, and create a performance that is at once awe-inspiring and relatably human. there’s a magnetism to the way they manage to be both larger-than-life and viscerally, messily alive that even non-fans can feel. and once you’ve experienced it, the unattainable flawlessness that’s held up as ideal for idols just looks boring by comparison.

SM admitted that they didn’t even believe in Super Junior, and didn’t bother to give them the chance they deserved. Everything Super Junior has: the fame, the fandom, the popularity, the endorsements, the freedom to create their own shows, write their own songs, and speak their minds in ways that would ruin other groups, they’ve worked, scratched, clawed, and fought to have what they have. Through antis, accidents, bad management, neglect, and hardships, they fought.

Any newcomers wondering why these “ahjussis” deserve to take vacations and be promoted, get married, speak freely, come and go as they like, and be one of SM’s stars now need to recognize what hard work is.

It’s called earning their dues, and boy did they earn it!

Unless you reference to at least one time when any of the above happened en mass by ELF, you just sound like you were looking for a way to tangle Super Junior up in these other occurrences -- by looking up your own ass.

And when I say prove, I don't mean referring to one measly comment someone made, that one time, somewhere... I mean when have ELF in mass quantity ever made any of these occurrences in other groups about Super Junior?

Actually all those ELFs I follow were supportive …

Don't really know who this Shawol thinks they are, but this ELF ( as well as many others I know/follow) is supportive of both Kris and the EXO members. I was introduced to Exo through Super Junior, and because they supported EXO, I support them and wish them the best too. People are going to think whatever they want and be as supportive or as hateful as they want, nothing you or I can do about it. It's not ELF's obligation to support either EXO or Kris or either, so your disappointment is a wasted emotion. I'd appreciate it if everyone can be united in the matter too, but it's not going to happen.
