so imagine if Dan escaped and Danny had to fight him again, but this time the general population of Amity Park saw, and clockwork didn't rewind anything

and yeah this is absolutely nothing new to this phandom but CONSIDER

what would literally everyone, ghost and human, think about this ghost who has the same logo as Danny telling him he's gonna become just like him one day and has a whole bunch of the same powers and they kinda look alike?

I guaran-goddamn-tee it they wouldn't be thinking 'oh that's evil Phantom from the future'

they'd be thinking 'oh shit Phantom's dad is a real asshole'

I need you all to please consider Jack warming up to Phantom because "turns out he just doesn't have a proper father figure!"

that's adorable omg

An episode in which Vlad's scheme to get Jack in trouble with the government backfires spectacularly and he ends up handcuffed to Jack and on the run and everything he does to regain control of the situation completely fails and makes things worse and Jack is just blissfully himboing his way through this mess and then Maddie shows up to help her husband and the trio just, commits so many crimes and Vlad is an unsubtle idiotic overpowered supervillain who is maybe almost helpful if you squint really hard and ignore all the things that led to here

“The Ghost Gabber is as good as new!” Dad announced, setting the newest iteration of the bane of Danny’s existence on the kitchen table. “I even added a few upgrades! This baby’ll be belting out ghost speak in no time!”

Danny pinched his nose. “Don’t most ghosts that come out of the portal speak English, anyway?”

“Most of the humanoid ones, yes. But not all ghosts are humanoid.” Dad picked up the device and flipped it on. “It’s even got a longer battery life and an easier on switch than the last version!”

With any luck, he would be able to destroy the stupid thing after Dad went to bed. The last thing he wanted was to sit through breakfast again and have it go off every time he so much as breathed.

“Sounds great Dad,” he hissed.

As expected, the device whirred to life.

“Sounds awful, actually.” It beeped. “I am a ghost.”

Danny’s blood ran cold. It had never done that before.

The most it had ever done was repeat back what he’d said. How was it able to—?

“We probably should have expected this. In retrospect, I mean.”

Danny shot her a confused look and Jazz shrugged.

“Dad’s driving was notoriously known for being the worst in Amity Park. I mean, he pulled the Ghost Assault Vehicle in front of an eighteen wheeler.”

“Impenetrable to ghosts but not to big rigs.” He paused. “I think you’re focusing on the wrong thing here, Jazz.”

“I’m grieving. I’m sorry if my focus is shot.” She pulled on the collar of her dress—a plain black dress a size too small she’d borrowed from Sam. “You have to admit though, we’re the more sane ones here.”

Danny crossed his arms. “You think?”

Across the room, Mom—also still dressed for the funeral earlier that morning—brought the Fenton Thermos down from above her head and aimed. The ghost of a broad-shouldered man in a hooded blue and white HAZMAT suit stumbled to the side. His feet slipped into a tail and Danny winced when he hit the floor. Hard.

“We should probably be stopping this,” she pointed out.

“And what are we going to tell her? ‘Hey Mom, don’t worry! Dad won’t turn evil. He’s only the second ghost in the family now.’” He deadpanned. “Yeah, I’m sure she’ll buy that.”

“What are we supposed to do then? Let her decimate him?”

“Eh, let her catch him and we’ll set him free once she’s distracted.” He turned and headed for the stairs out of the lab. “I for one, in the meantime, will be screaming into my pillow.”

She groaned.

Funerals were the worst.

Idea for a Danny Phantom fic:

"Peer Review"

an old friend of the Drs Fenton eviscerates a draft of their latest paper. Just, scathing comments about their methodology, logic, conclusions, etc. culminating in you will call me right now and tell me why I shouldn't report you to the ethics board, and it's an extremely effective wake up call.

+ fallout. Have we raised our children to be just like us? Are we scientists or TubeYou ghost hunters? etc.

Part One

Content warning: an OC compares something Jack wrote to the writings of an IRL evil scientist, though no names are named. (Some people don't deserve theirs spoken) Yes, that one. References to language that is used to justify racism and other human rights crimes.

Patents paid the bills.

Still, Maddie Fenton was pleased to have been able to send her and her husband's latest paper to an old colleague up north. It was a just a draft, but they had made sure to include their most exciting discoveries.

It was nice to be publishing again after so long a break. She was not the kind of woman to go around complaining about how her children prevented her from getting published --seriously did they think their kids were property? Set pieces? --but as he kids were getting older, busier, and more independent, she had intentionally taken advantage of the opportunity.

And Rachel had been prompt with her response. Though, to be honest, Maddie had kind of expected a phone call instead of just the paper being sent back. She and Ray had been friends, back when they were working on their dissertations.

If it's okay (and makes sense), can you make a Danny Phantom 3-sentence fic relating to amnesia and "seeing what could not be seen before"?

“Vlad’s an old family friend; we went to college with him,” explained the woman who was apparently his wife as she had him shake hands with a man who had grimaced at the sight of him.

Vlad’s smile was tight as he said, “Yes, Jack, we were the best of friends.”

The words sounded hollow—more hollow than everything else, and that was saying something—and he nodded because he knew he was supposed to agree, to accept the statement as fact, even though he wasn’t sure he did.

Contradicting Mindsets - phicphight 2022

WC: 1356

Jack doesn’t usually snoop through his kids’ things. He’s just trying to help Danny with his homework. Then he finds a folder filled with printouts of his and Maddie’s own research papers on ghosts, covered all over with corrections in Danny’s handwriting.

Guilt lies heavy within Jack as he sneaks into Danny’s room, eyes scanning the bedroom with precaution.

Months ago, he’d never have done this, never would’ve snooped through Danny’s room, invade his privacy. But this feels necessary.
