Another end to a great round! Also, perhaps help a mod out?

I just wanted to say thank you all for making this another great round! I personally had a blast doing the art (even if I had to rush) and finishing some of my fic this round. This is one of my favorite communities to be a part of, and it’s because of how much the participants have fun participating.

As those who follow on Dreamwidth know, the reason I had to rush and post all my art there at once was because my laptop died in mid-August. I had to take out credit to get a new one, and it only arrived twelve days ago, but I was borrowing my son’s laptop on weekends when he’d visit me to try and geet it all done. Right now I’m $598 in debt to Fingerhut, and I still need to repair my mom’s laptop.

I have a FundRazr that is raising money to fix my mother’s laptop and pay off mine. If you’ve enjoyed any of the art or fic I posted this round, or like the new layouts on the three different sites, you can either donate or reblog and it would be a huge help. There is absolutely no pressure to donate, but I would definitely appreciate people reblogging the fundraiser if nothing else. It’s been an interesting few months and I hope my electronic troubles will be over soon.

WIP Big Bang 2020 is a wrap!

Congratulations to everyone!! We had a lot of great fic and great art posted and it’s time to celebrate! I’m so so proud of all of you and I hope you’re all proud of yourselves as well. You did something great by completing your stories and I’m very glad you all participated. I’m really impressed by all the fantastic fics and beautiful art that was produced this year. If you haven’t had a chance to check everyone else’s posts and leave comments, please do! I hope to see you all again next year!

Story Title: Turn The Page Fandom: Supernatural Link(s): Story on AO3

Summary: Sam and Cas go to help Jimmy Novak from the other world when they learn that he’s dying. 

This different world is one where Sam didn’t die at Cold Oak, so Dean never made the demon deal. The battle between Michael and Lucifer at Stull Cemetery never took place. And Castiel never officially met the brothers, remaining in Heaven for the most part.

Jimmy’s predicament is the cause of demons retaliating for Sam’s visit months ago. After all, Sam’s presence led to two Archangels coming down to Earth. These demons strongly prefer the status quo: angels stay up in Heaven while demons face little threat from angels on Earth. 

Sam and Cas work to save Jimmy’s life. Their time in the other reality takes an unexpected turn after Cas sacrifices himself. While Cas saves Jimmy from the brink of death, Sam can’t bear losing Cas for good. Unfortunately, Sam also must sort out his conflicting feelings for the other Jimmy while being secretly in love with Cas.

This story takes place shortly after SPN episode, 15x03 “The Rupture.”

How I Lost My Shit: Okay, I admit I started the story prior to the sign up deadline for the WIP BB this year. I was nervous about doing this story because it was a sequel. After all, it helps to be familiar with the previous installment to get a better understanding of the sequel. Though I try my best to fill in any necessary details for newcomers to the story universe.

How I Finished My Shit: Seeing the really nice response on the previous story (Fade to Black); I was motivated to return to the world of this story. Upon seeing WIP BB return this year, I felt the sequel was the best story to do since I had an idea brewing for it. Having deadlines helps me a lot as well as the writing sprints on Discord. Everything came together to encourage me to finish this story.

I’ve got my story online or mostly online and it’ll be posted by the date I claimed, but how will everybody know I’ve completed it? Well, friend, do I have just the thing for you. Here on the WIP Big Bang comm, we’re doing what we call Bragging Rights. Artists will likely be at different completion stages, but should still check in. Check ins are done through a google form to streamline things. It should be a straight-forward homicide investigation, except everywhere he turns, he keeps running into people he knows–who all know more than they’re telling him. Set concurrent with “Something Called Justice.”

Art Claims Round 4

Fourth and last round of story claims are up. At the time of this posting, 30 stories are left. These are all really fantastic stories that deserve an awesome artist. Please look into your hearts and see if you want to claim any of these. Also, PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Bribe them with smiles and candy. I’ve just checked with my lawyer and it’s perfectly acceptable to grab your artist friends and stuff them in a sack and bring them over here*. *Actually, my lawyer’s words were more like “Don’t do that.” Art claims are run using a google form to streamline things. To claim a story, the form requires email, check in ID, and the identifying number of your first choice of story. Putting your top three choices is best in case your first or second has already been chosen. Please be sure you’ve read the FAQ before claiming. If you claimed a fic for art in a previous round, please use a different check in ID for your round 4 claim. This round you may claim up to two fics. Please wait until you receive a confirmation email of your claim from us with your snippets, then you can submit another form for a second claim, also with a different check in ID.
