Deadline reports that the CW reached a deal to develop and air the reboot of the CBS show. Network president Mark Pedowitz made an aggressive campaign for the show, due to upcoming gaps at the network and the talent involved with Walker.”

Immediate thoughts on Jared Padalecki doing the Walker Texas Ranger reboot:
- he’s going to be an executive producer too, which gives him more control over his own life
- it’s a Texas show so hopefully it’ll at least partially film in Texas, giving him much needed family time
- Jared will look so fucking good as a Ranger
- he better wear some leather and ride some horses
- I hope he gets to not shave, keep his luxurious beard
- also hope his character, a single dad, gets to have a dog
- it’ll be so hard to see him have a different co-star, as the chemistry he has/had with Jensen was once in a lifetime
- reality hits hard - I started seeing a future without consistent J2 content and it hurt
- I’m equal parts excited for Jared’s future and sad that the end of Supernatural really is nigh
I really want this show to be good or at least watchable. I want to keep seeing his pretty face on screen.
But I’m also going to be mourning Sam and it will hurt.
