Eric Kripke is stated to be a huge fan of both Led Zeppelin and Robert Johnson.

Dean says that his favorite song is a tie between Led Zeppelin’s Ramble on and Traveling Riverside Blues, and Traveling Riverside Blues was originally written by Robert Johnson and Led Zeppelin changed it up a bit and made it as a tribute to him. So in Crossroads it’s no wonder Dean knows all about Robert Johnson because not only does it relate to his job and that fascinates him but it’s also in his favorite song too!
