The imprisonment within the Cage continues. Sam Winchester’s soul is gone. Lucifer and Michael remain, as does Michael’s best friend, Adam Milligan.

Michael’s best friend. Maintaining a best friendship with Adam Milligan is as gratifying as it is humbling. Friendship is a human conception, an extension of Free Will. Father did not design angels with Free Will. He Blessed angels with Purpose. And yet, the Archangel Michael maintains a best friendship with Adam. It is awesome, and Michael likes it. Very much.

But what constitutes a friendship? As the centuries pass within Hell and Michael’s connection to Adam grows ever deeper, the Archangel begins to discern just how much he cares for the human. How much he will always care for the human. However, when Lucifer is removed from the Cage while still Michael remains, the Archangel must confront a devasting truth. The outcome of which jeopardizes the very foundation of Michael’s best friendship and threatens his relationship with the one being that Michael has grown more devoted to than even God.

Chapter 6 (Kismet II)

In that very moment, Castiel was gradually becoming further intrigued by what might happen between him and Sam, how close they were getting and how the night might end. He still didn’t quite know what he felt about Sam except that he was definitely attracted to him. He wouldn’t be standing so close to him right in that very moment if he wasn’t. He had an awakened urge to kiss him that was only getting maddeningly more desperate.

He had fought with these kinds of feelings before. His apprehension and distant approach to affection from others and having boyfriends became ever more consistent through the knowledge of his naivety in the past. He was treated so badly in his previous relationships, that he didn’t want to make the same mistake of trusting a lover, who could end up just being the same as the previous ones.

But the main issue that Cas had with this chance encounter with Sam was that this gorgeous guy was only making it harder for him, making him question everything he had ever experienced in relationships before, which left him stumbling on what to do next. He knew that running away no longer made any sense. Perhaps he was going to have to figure it out as the night progressed.

Castiel is a freelance writer living in Manhattan with his best friend Tracey. Mid-20’s and socially awkward, has hopes and dreams to finish his first novel and travel the world. He stays in on Friday nights because he would rather avoid people. One night, Tracey insists that she must go out and drags him with her to a nearby retro nightclub. Incidentally he meets Sam like a gift from heaven, the most gorgeous man he has ever laid his eyes on. He can’t understand why he feels so strongly about someone he’s only just met. It seems as though his feelings might be mutual…

Side story: Sam happens to also have an older brother named Dean who Tracey insists on toying with until she realises that he might be more important to her than any old fling that she’s had before.
