SPN Archangel Week is a weeklong event dedicated to celebrating Supernatural’s first and foremost celestial beings. Please join us in sharing fanworks for Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, Gabriel, and the rest of their Supernatural family and friends. Whether you write, draw, gif, edit, meta, make moodboards or playlists, or just post your heart out, we’re excited to see what you’ve got.

Event Dates:

Sunday, October 22nd - Saturday, October 28th 2023.

Prompts:

Each day has been given an overarching theme. Two smaller, one-word prompts are also provided. These are only to give everyone a place to start, if you want it. Please feel free to stick to the theme or not, use one or both of the prompts, mix-and-match the days, or do something else entirely! You’re also welcome to repost your older/preexisting work to the tag, if you would like. Our only true goal here is to showcase work that focuses on our faves. How you do that is up to you!

The focus of this week is on the archangels. In keeping with that spirit, this page will only reblog content that focuses on at least one of them as a primary element of the work.

Spn really fucked up by making angels knowable. yes give them human vessels for interacting with humans and for contrast with their true forms but also make them unfathomable. Make them manifest across landscapes, across the night sky. Let dean see cas in a crumpled trenchcoat faling asleep in the passenger seat but let dean be awestruck by castiel as an immense shadow flickering across distant mountaintops or in an uncanny assembly of clouds, dizzying and impossible but never evil, always watchful and warm. Let lucifer be something sam sees not only in dreams sneering from behind Jessica's face but as the shape the darkness takes on moonless nights and the sharp edges of his own shadow. Let the brothers feel increasingly uneasy and exposed as Zachariah watches them from flickering vacancy signs and motel tvs and telephone wires. We should be reminded that angels are not human, they are unbeholden to our laws of physics and the limitations of our senses.
