NoDeVos, no elimination of our public education for the DeVos style of theocratic and profit for the administrators type of private or charter school education. This billionaire network marketer heiress paid the Donald Trump campaign $9.5 million and in return was nominated for a post she is not qualified for, cannot answer any questions relevant to education during the confirmation hearings. Call your Senators and ask them to decline Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary.
confirmation hearings, perjury, corruption, TheoFascionalist Party,
Switchboards accross the Nation are lit up with Americans calling their Senators to reject Betsy DeVos for Education Secretary during confirmation hearings for the Trump cabinet.
Senators and staff have been swamped with #NoDeVos phone calls, emails, messages and Tweets. Some phone services have been overloaded and shut down. Many have just quit answering their phones. They are simply stressed to the MAX!
No fear, if you are stressed you can cure all that ails you with the Betsy DeVos endorsed brain washing, mind altering, brain-healthy fish dishes from the neurocorecenters, sure to be introduced and forced upon your children in a school near you. Billionaire DeVos, conspiracy theorists, chicken little and theocrats swear by this stuff’s effectiveness and they claim a 90% improvement rate for kids with ADHD. They don’t produce nor do they have any documented proof or studies to back this claim up, but they don’t need it because they have faith. And they have faith you will send them $2000 for their program.
Help defeat Betsy DeVos!
Tomorrow (February 2nd, 2017), the Senate votes on Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education, and in a surprising turn of events, two Republican senators have pledged to oppose her! That means we only need one more Republican to change their vote and we stop Trump’s nightmarish billionaire cabinet pick from getting confirmed!
(If you want a sense of this person’s fitness to run the Department of Education, DeVos has spent her career defending school vouchers and funding disastrously ineffective charter schools, and she apparently doesn’t think it would be her job to enforce the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.)
If you have a Republican senator, now is your moment!
The Republicans who are opposing DeVos were both swayed by calls from their constituents. So calling your Senator works! Here’s a script you can use (adapted from The 65):
Hi, this is <your name>, a constituent. I’m <an educator/a parent/an advocate for education> and I want <Senator ____ > to stop Betsy DeVos’s confirmation. DeVos was a key player in shaping the Michigan charter school system, which is severely lacking in oversight, demanding little accountability for how tax dollars are spent or how well students are educated. I don’t want to see the same thing happen nationally, and I expect <Senator ______ > to take a stand for quality education. America’s students and teachers deserve better than DeVos!
Or, if that seems overwhelming, here’s a shorter one:
Hi, this is <your name>. I’m a constituent, and I want <Senator ____ > to stop Betsy DeVos’s confirmation tomorrow!
Here’s a directory of U.S. Senators. Just find your state, dial that number, and read your script.
Here’s the thing: the vote is tomorrow, February 2nd! So you must call as soon as you can to make a difference.
You can also make a difference by boosting this signal, on and off Tumblr, if calling reps isn’t your thing or you don’t live in a red state. Does your aunt live in North Carolina? Does she care about education? People with disabilities? One of your Anxious Mods found that even her Republican family were willing to call on this one, so if you can, pass this info along to someone you know. Or just give us a reblog. Every little bit helps!
We actually have a real chance of winning this one, folks. And it’s because you’ve been making those calls!
UPDATE: final vote now MONDAY, FEB. 6
There’s still time!!!
It’s still a 50-50 split, and Pence will cast the deciding vote to confirm her unless we flip one more Republican. (The Dems are already all voting no.)
If you haven’t already–or feel able to do it again– it’s not too late!
To call! To signal boost! To forward this to any family / friends with Republican senators who may be receptive to this one. Even on the weekend they may be able to leave a message.
We’re doing SO WELL! We’re almost there! So, good job everybody, and let’s keep it up just a little longer.
THANK YOU!
DeVos would like to introduce brain washing to children in your school. See More Here
Tom Price Is SO OFFENDED That Elizabeth Warren Would Bring Up His Blatant Insider Trading
Published on Jan 20, 2017
In this Majority Report clip, we watch Rep. Tom Price (R-Mich.), Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of Health and Human Services, look bored while Senator Warren questions him on a clearly problematic timeline of stock purchases and legislation introduction on his part. After a few minutes, he looks like he wants to literally jump up and punch her in the face.
Busted! Confirmation Hearings
Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune said he was reassured by Commerce Secretary-designee Wilbur Ross’s views on trade during his confirmation hearing Wednesday.
“I thought he did a really good job today of talking about enforcing the law, examining on a recurring basis these trade agreements, seeing how they’re operating, what’s working, what’s not,” the South Dakota Republican told reporters after the hearing. “I was comfortable with the way he addressed those issues.”
Thune, a vocal proponent of President Barack Obama’s signature Trans-Pacific Partnership and other free trade deals, said he has been concerned about President-elect Donald Trump’s threats to hit imports from Mexico with a 35 percent tariff.
“I didn’t take away from it all that he wasn’t very pro export and pro trade,” Thune said of the designee.
Ross’s answers balanced his desire to crack down on trade cheating and reexamine trade agreements with recognizing the importance of growing exports, Thune said.
“Based on what I heard today, he is going to be a very strong voice in the Cabinet and in the administration on trade issues,” he said. “Now, how they work that with [the U.S. trade representative] and who has the ear of the administration, that’s an issue that remains to be seen as the administration starts to take shape.”

Nikki Haley on Wednesday became the latest Donald Trump Cabinet nominee to break with him on how to deal with Russia — to a degree, anyway.
The South Carolina governor told senators reviewing her nomination for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations that the United States must push back against Russia’s attempts to flex its muscles in places such as Ukraine and Syria, as well as its alleged interference in the U.S. election process.
Russia was one of several areas with which the governor put daylight between herself and the president-elect on Wednesday — at one point, she indirectly chided Trump for speaking dismissively of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
On Russia, Haley said, “I don’t think that we can trust them.”
“We have to try and see what we can get from them before we give to them,“ Haley told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "We have to continue to be very strong.”

Trump regret!
Remember when...*The banking institutions were charging outrageous interest rates and fees, *The credit card companies were pushing low initial interest rates and unrestricted and easy credit applications to get debtors and to transfer debt from one card to another and then the rates skyrocketed, and Americans were building up debt at alarming rates, *The economy was crashing and Mortgage companies were forclosing on people’s homes like crazy, *Retirees pension plans were being tapped into and then lost during the financial meltdown during the Bush days, *People’s retirement plans were being traded away during the Bush days, *People needed to tap into and and drain their savings just to live? Those were the “good old days”. Remember when during the Obama administration they had to bail out some financial markets but put stricter regulations into play and credit card companies had to work with debtors to try to get back on track, eliminating a lot of the debt at times? Remember when during the Obama administration mortgage holders had to work with homeowners and stop forclosing on their homes, and more consumer protections were put into play? Well, Donald Trump and the Republican Party want to Make America Great Again; they want to un-do anything Obama has done, including get rid of all those wasteful consumer protections and restrictive regulations. And because all the debt that will be created due to all of Trump and the GOP’s not-self sustaining spending plans, and the lack of revenue due to the tax cuts on the top 10% there won’t be any money for that debt. Trump’s new Transportation Secretary choice Elaine Chao discussed just that in her opening statement for her confirmation hearing, regarding the amount of debt that would be needed for infrastructure, highways, bridges. She mentioned something about the need for creative financing and people’s pension plan funds among other things. Be on the lookout! They want to return to the “good old days”.
Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions was asked Tuesday during his confirmation hearing if grabbing a woman by the genitals without her consent is sexual assault, whether millions of Americans voted fraudulently in November’s election, and whether banning all Muslims from entering the United States was good policy.
Those may seem absurd questions at a confirmation hearing for a U.S. Cabinet appointee. But Sessions’ boss is President-Elect Donald J. Trump, who said he could grab women by the vagina because he was a celebrity, falsely claimed that millions of Americans voted fraudulently and proposed banning Muslims from entering the country.
For the next two weeks, Trump’s nominees are likely to face the most withering questions based not on their own actions or positions, but on what the incoming president himself said during a raucous campaign and before - and whether they agree. On other occasions, they will be asked to espouse a position on an issue, like the minimum wage, where Trump has expressed various and conflicting views.
It is a unique challenge for Cabinet appointees, political observers and members of Congress say, because Trump has made so many comments that were controversial, outlandish or false, and he has often expressed policies that are imprecise or shifting. Several longtime consultants said they had no idea how to coach a nominee on responding to one of Trump’s comments under oath.
“We all knew this was coming,” said Rep. Chris Collins, a New York Republican on Trump’s transition committee.
