Benghazi, the Republican Party disinformation campaign.  The GOP Myths:

  • Secretary Clinton’s main communication source and intelligence advisor was Sydney Blumenthal.
  • Secretary Clinton’s main method of communication was by email.
  • Secretary Clinton was disengaged on the evening of September 11, 2012 and not available during the Benghazi attack.
  • Mike Huckabee, former R-Gov Arkansas and 2016 R-Presidential candidate, said Secretary Clinton ignored the warning calls from dying Americans in Benghazi.
  • Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said Benghazi was a 3:00 am phone call that Secretary Clinton never picked up.
  • Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) accused Secretary Clinton of not being available at 3:00 am during the Benghazi attack.

Guess who Donald Trump “borrowed” his MAGA slogan from. If you listen to the entire 1991 Bill Clinton Presidential announcement speech you will hear a lot of things that Trump “borrowed” but instead of actually following through with them Trump is actually returning to what Clinton often referred to from the previous 12 years under Reagan and George H. W. Bush. @amjoyshow @maddow @Lawrence

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chair Corey Stewart announced Thursday he would challenge Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine in 2018 — and cast his campaign as a challenge to the rest of the Republican Party, too.

Stewart launched his Senate run exactly one month after barely losing Virginia’s GOP gubernatorial primary to former Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie with fighting words for Kaine and the GOP alike. Stewart massively outperformed expectations in losing to Gillespie by less than 2 percentage points, and he painted his combative, Trump-inspired style as the future of the Republican Party.

“The era of the kinder, gentler Republican is over,” Stewart said.

Stewart also reserved plenty of rancor for Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential running mate in 2016.

“As an obedient servant to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, Tim Kaine is the leading obstructionist against Trump’s America First agenda,” Stewart said. “Virginians and citizens across the country need a fighter representing them in D.C.”

There is no such thing as a “kinder and gentler Republican” politician. For the most part there is corruption, deceit, demagoguery, obstruction, dishonesty, greed, dark money, deep state, pandering to pocket stuffing donors and colluding with by covering up and denying a cyber attack on our country by a hostile state. (There are some good Republican politicians)

MEDPAGE TODAY: ACA REPEAL CALLED 'NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CANCER DIAGNOSIS'

WASHINGTON – With continuing attempts in Congress to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a panel of experts and patient advocates at the American Association for Cancer Research’s annual meeting here discussed how changes would affect cancer patients and survivors.

“I don’t know if I’d be alive today without coverage under the Affordable Care Act,” said Chiara D'Agostino, a 45-year-old from Montclair, N.J., with triple negative, stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She said she could not have afforded medical insurance without the ACA.

“And I’m incredibly anxious that my healthcare insurance can be pulled out from under me.”

She was joined on the panel by three-time breast cancer survivor Diana Chingos of Los Angeles, who related how she could not switch health plans prior to the ACA, as well as moderator Gilbert S. Omenn, MD, PhD, of University of Michigan, and Ernest Hawk, MD, MPH, of University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Omenn, Harold T. Shapiro Distinguished University Professor of Internal Medicine, Human Genetics, and Public Health at the University of Michigan, and director of the UM Center for Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics, formerly served as EVP for Medical Affairs and CEO of the University of Michigan Health System.

He noted that access to comprehensive health insurance is vital for all Americans, especially the 1.7 million who were diagnosed with cancer in 2016, and the estimated 15.5 million cancer survivors in the United States today.

According to Omenn, the key ACA provisions benefiting cancer patients and survivors are:

  • Required coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. More than a quarter of adult Americans younger than 65 have pre-existing conditions that would have made them uninsurable for individual market coverage without ACA
  • The prohibition of annual and lifetime coverage caps. Before ACA, 105 million Americans had insurance policies that imposed lifetime limits
  • Coverage of prevention, treatment, and survivorship services
  • Expansion of Medicaid. There are currently more people covered by Medicaid than Medicare
  • Coverage of dependents through age 26

Other current ACA benefits include:

  • Coverage of clinical trials and related costs
  • Coverage of certain cancer drugs that were previously considered deniable
  • Services for the growing number of cancer survivors, such as periodic check-ups since this population accounts for 22% of subsequent cancer diagnoses
  • Expansion of the number of people eligible for Medicaid as well as is federal funding

Omenn acknowledged that, in the wake of failed efforts thus far to craft legislation that can pass Congress, the precise shape of future changes remains uncertain.

“About 3% of healthcare spending in the U.S. is for prevention and public health, and 75% of healthcare costs are related to preventable conditions,” said Hawk, noting that one-third to one-half of cancer deaths are preventable in western populations, and that the ACA has provisions for covering clinical preventive services.

Repeal of the ACA would cost the CDC $5 billion or 12% of its annual budget, and states would lose more than $3 billion in public health funding over 5 years, he said.

“The Affordable Care Act elevated prevention as a national priority and provided access to clinical preventive services,” Hawk said, adding that it also strengthened the role of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) by increasing its authority.

Chingos, a 23-year breast cancer survivor, said that when she left the corporate world to freelance years ago, she hadn’t expected to be diagnosed with cancer at age 30.

“I found that I was married to my health insurance policy,” she said, since she couldn’t switch coverage because of her pre-existing condition.

“I became an insurance pariah, I had a high deductible, annual caps on my out-of-pocket costs, and was paying $100 for each of my anti-nausea (Zofran) pills,” she related.

Chingos said that under managed care prior to the ACA, she lost many doctors who could not afford to take her insurance. To her, she said, “Repeal and replace are words that are not compatible with a cancer diagnosis.”

Trump’s agenda of evil could include cutting an Affordable Care Act subsidy program intended to help insurers pay medical bills for low-income citizens. If Trump does this it will be just one more indication that he really does not have the American people’s interests in mind. Many of those who will be affected are those who voted for him based on his deceit and rhetoric and promises he had no intention of keeping.  Read more here

A while back, someone stated the blood of our troops would be on Donald Trump’s hands due to his zenopobic rhetoric and the possibility of sabotage by Nationals supporting our troops or who were were supporting in conflict zones . This was before the Trump Muslim Ban. The day after Trump’s Muslim Ban, which included the country of Yemen, the botched raid in Yemen appears to be evidence of that. Draw your own conclusions.

What is wrong with creating jobs? Nothing. The Standing Rock Sioux offered many times to negotiate alternate routes for the pipeline so it would’t be running through their burial grounds and near their water sources. The pipeline company refused. If it was moved, it would take longer to finish, still create jobs, and for a longer period of time keeping workers working longer. Would it cost more? Sure, but I don’t think it will break the pipeline’s budget. Does Trump have a conflict of interest, interests in the pipeline or other companies related to it? Who knows for sure. Standing Rocks and Bonds What’s wrong with using American steel for the #DAPL ? Nothing. Trump should have used American made steel and aluminum in his building projects too. On NBC’s “Meet The Press” with Chuck Todd (Jan. 14 2017) Representative John Lewis (D-GA) said on the eve of Martin Luther King Jr. weekend that he didn’t see Donald Trump as a legitimate president.

Donald Trump responded with a tirade of Tweet Bombs with insults and inaccurate remarks with racial overtones describing Lewis’s Congressional district. Trump’s transition team members Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, and many GOP lawmakers denounce Lewis’s statement and his plan not to attend the inauguration ceremony. Even some DFL lawmakers weighed in. The audacity of anyone stating that a presidential win is illigitimate! Right?

FLASHBACK 2012

President Barack Obama wins a second term.

Barack Obama won both the popular vote and the Electoral vote - just another Trump “untruth” that Obama “lost the popular vote by a lot”. This is unlike Trump’s claim of a “landslide” where he won the electoral vote by 26 less than President Obama did in 2012, and he lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes to @HillaryClinton. Romney lost to Obama by 126 electoral votes and 3,473,402 unpopular votes. Trump beat Hillary by ONLY 74 electoral votes and HILLARY WON the popular vote by 2,865,075 votes, almost 3 million. Are the statements of John Lewis, a champion of civil rights and a man who has suffered personally from the acts of racism, so outlandish? More outlandish than a man who tried to deligitimize the Presidency of Barack Obama by pushing the racist birtherism movement from 2011 to 2016 and who also starting a conspiracy hinting he was a Muslim, something 60+% of his followers still believe due to the subliminal mind-plant “maybe he’s a Muslim, who knows”?

I watched this Van Jones #MESSYTRUTH show on CNN when it aired and then had to find a replay because there were many things that were a little disturbing. @maddow @amjoyshow  Jones replayed a segment of a previous show where he met with a family from Trumble County in Ohio, farming and manufacturing country. Jones said that the area is mostly a Democratic voting are and that especially in the past 4 years the steel mils and factories have been hit hard. Keep this in mind, the Republican party has controlled both the House and Senate for the past 4 years and have blocked any legislation that would benefit the mining and steel industries and the working class. Their main agenda for the past 8 years has been to discredit President Obama and to obstruct and try to undo anything that Obama has done or proposed that benefits the middle and lower class Americans.  The family that Jones met with in that segment were historically Democratic voters, but the father and sons voted Trump, and the wife didn’t vote for President. One of the reasons the father gave for voting Trump. The father said he felt it was looking for a change and cited basically the economy and Obama Care referring to his mother.  He said Trump was speaking change, and he voted for change. Seems to me Clinton spoke a lot about change too and actually had proposals and not just words and a slogan.  The father’s main reason for not voting for Hillary he said was because she forgot them, or came through there and completely neglected them. Now I am not sure if he meant she didn’t specifically go to his town, but she was in Ohio in March, May, June, September, October, and November for sure and had surrogates campaigning for her in Ohio as well including Bill Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, President Obama, Senator Chris Murphy, and others including celebrities. Hillary spoke a lot about boosting the auto and steel industry and putting people back to work. Remember the talk about Donald Trump using Chinese steel and aluminum for his buildings? Sure, Donald blamed Hillary for all the woes of our Nation for the past 40 years; remember his statement on that? When Bill Clinton was Governor he was a popular Governor and served two terms. When Hillary was Senator in New York she served two terms and was successful and had a high voter rating. When she was Secretary of State in Obama’s first term she was not in any way in charge of the economy, and she hasn’t been in any office since then. So, Donald Trump blamed her, and his supporters believed him. The master con, the master deceiver. During this #MESSYTRUTH segment the same husband and wife were guests, The husband did say Trump had not been to his area, “I’d like to see him come to the area”. Then Jones brought up the gun issue and a statement the husband had made about the 2nd Amendment talk and his fears of his hunting rifles being taken away because when there is a downturn in the economy they hunt, as a family to put food in the freezer. Now I wonder where he would heard something about Hillary wanting to take away his guns, because there is absolutely no truth to it! The NRA, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Pence? This family doesn’t seem to me to be conspiracy theory conservative site viewers, they seem to be down to earth real people, so perhaps the biggest MSM broadcaster of false information, FOX cable news? Everyone is scratching their heads trying to figure out why Hillary Clinton lost the election and how the hell Donald Trump even made it through the primaries. These are some of the main reasons, deceit, misinformation, and outright lies, and those being gullible enough to believe it without doing some research to find the truth.

Cripes, they actually did what seems like pretty rational research. Several take-sways, one being that Trump plays dirty in a game democrats hardly know about. I need to learn to get nasty too.

Trump puts Nazi SS Storm Troopers in the background of his #MAGA flag. I guess we know what the underlying message is for a Trump Whitehouse, especially with a white supremist and self proclaimed Leninist heading his team and conspiracy theorists in his transition team and Cabinet choices.
