Jake had just gotten back from another mission against the sky people. He usually comes back pretty banged up but this time to your surprise he was practically untouched. Until later in the night you caught him hissing when he would move his neck around too much. His signs of pain made your ears flicker to the source of the sound. “Ma Jake, what it wrong?” You ask taking hold of his hands, scanning his face. “It’s my neck, it’s stiff” he says trying to rub the nape of his neck to find some sort of relief. Smacking his hand away you guide him to lay on his stomach on the flood of your shared tent.
Crouching down next to him you begin to firmly but gently rub his shoulders and neck, relieving the tension. Earning sounds of satisfaction from your mate, you smile to yourself know that you skills to yourself knowing that you’re helping him feel good. “Is that any better?” You say letting him sit up to face you. He stretches his arms up and pops his neck “A lot better, thank you” he says placing his hand on your face, rubbing your cheekbones. Wrapping your arms around his neck in response as you sit yourself on his lap, closing the gap between you two. He movies his hands down your back to support your weight and rub soothing circles. Snuggling your face into the crook of his neck as you place loving pecks along his collar bone.
Times like this make you love the simplicity of your relationship and having these sweet shared moments together. Placing a kiss atop your head, he stands up carrying you to your bed. “I see you” he states looking into your eyes as you lay on top of his body. Turning your head to the side to hear his heartbeat and fully take him in. “I see you ma Jake.”The two of you fall asleep in each others arms, the sound of his heart and his breathing are like their own brand of melatonin. Jake is eternally grateful to be given a new shot at life with you at his side.
