It's [...] worth mentioning that Christians in America also forget that the reason the founding fathers fought for a secular constitution, the wall of separation, was in large part down to the fact that it protected Christians from other Christians. Different denominations of Christianity were all fighting for state power, and the only way the deal could be fair for everyone was to say that religion would play no part in policy. You were free to practise your religion in accordance to the law, but your religion could have no power over law.
