Partially customised Chloe today. Wiped her eyebrows (and lazily repainted them) which really softens her look, added more freckles, added some definition to her nose and then glossed her lips and eyes!
She’s so pretty😻

How easy is it to get a nice even texture after sanding the sculpted eyes away on MH dolls, like your fabulous Lagoona cyclopian custom! I've always wanted to try a one eyed repaint but I don't know how great my sanding skills are, haha.
The honest truth is that it isn’t easy. There’s always a danger that you’ll over sand so you constantly have to check if the vinyl has gotten thin or warped. It helps to use sandpaper in varying grits. The initial sanding grit is for getting the shape you want (sanding off nose bridge in this instance) and the rest is using very fine sanding grit, preferably around 500 or 1000 to get it to look as smooth as possible.
Sanding by hand isn’t something you can do in one sitting and remember to rest a lot because it’s a huge strain on your fingers and wrists. I’ve seen people use power tools but it’s so easy to go overboard if you can’t feel the vinyl’s thickness. ^^;
This is really helpful! Thank you so much for answering! :3
I'm not do e with Gooliope spam yet, sorry! :B I've washed the gel out of her hair and now she's all boil curled. Just need to wait for her to dry overnight :3 If this doesn't work/I don't like the results there's a very likely chance that I'll chop it all off and plop a wig on.
I've just been commissioned to make a couple of custom MH dolls; Wisp and Valentine! *falls over* I've been wanting to do these for ages! I can't wait to start :D
Halloween in the pumpkin patch!
I bought Cleolei today! However her box hair was a mess.. When I removed her circlet half of her fringe fell out! So I decided to trim the frazzled ends, give her an asymmetrical fringe and an inverted bob! I painted some of her sculpted bandages and the details on her shoes in gold acrylic.
