June 20, 2016 Mercury, Saturn, Neptune T-Square

A T-square is an acute aspect interplay between three signs sharing the same modality. On June 20, 2016, Mercury in Gemini will make an almost exact opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces, creating a mutable T-square. T-square events traditionally suggest progression in some form, lead by the apex planet, in this case being Neptune in Pisces, who under the pressure of two squares is forced to perform. There are no release valves with a T-square, oppositions and squares both signify challenging aspects where conflict must be reconciled with motion, it is mandatory that we move. With Neptune contacting Saturn, ideals and vision is sculpted by realism and form. The legitimacy of Neptune’s fantasy and delirium is called into question. Saturn accepts only what is sound and tangible. This can create a conflict between speculation and reality, often the borders between material and immaterial are cloudy and ill defined. Saturn calcifies Neptune’s flight of fancy, it can turn the third eye blind without deep reflection. Historically, aspect patterns between Saturn and Neptune have signified the swelling and the destruction of communism. Neptune is concerned with collective matters, while Saturn governs autocracy, political order, and government, so the cohesion of these two planets has corresponded with political movement and change. Imagination and idealism is forced through a logical texture.

Currently, Australia and the US are running election campaigns. It will be interesting to observe how long politicians can continue to make grandiose Neptune promises before Saturn demands order. The collective’s view of reality is impressionable, and willing for equality and compassion at any price. Saturn is a disciplinary. Lost individuals dwelling on the outskirts of society, wrapped in Neptune vices like addiction or psychosis, or minority groups may be reprimanded, threatened, and even further exiled. With Mercury in Gemini, these individuals may be given a voice, possibly through the political stage. Journalism is a profession traditionally ruled by Mercury and Gemini, so articles and media at this point in time may focus on collective issues of concern and holding either politicians to account regarding these matters, or the individual enforcing the self sufficiency of Saturn. Both Mercury and Neptune are symbolized by the trickster archetype, so the mind can be easily misguided when these planets contact. While the gift of intellectual fantasy and creative reverie is rich, storytelling becomes non fiction. The danger here is projecting dream into reality and forming only lies and deceit. It creates a climate where the powers to be, those represented by Saturn oligarchy are in a position to easily fool the collective. This is when the sugar of consciousness, I love that term by Alan Oken, a product of Mercury, creates the awareness of this happening. Being level headed is the most important, though the seemingly impossible guard.

On this day the Sun will enter Cancer and make an opposition to Moon in Sagittarius. Jupiter rules Sagittarius and exalts in Cancer, so the wealth of the inner world created by Mercury-Neptune expands and facilitates a period of philosophical introspection and dreamy introspection in a lunar transience. In the days coming, Jupiter in Virgo will make a square to Mercury and form a mutable grand cross in the week following. In mutable spirit, this generates a need for change, new experience, and unusual uncertainty. With the fullness of a Cancer moon, emotions may be easily inflamed, and force even more conflict and confusion. Neptune as the apex may be the redeemer. Neptune is a soother and a symbol of retribution. The radiance of the spiritual sun brings an elevating dimension to this whole phenomena. Saturn is a master key, formidable and wise, the doorway of Neptune can be opened with clear eyes, and the mind of Mercury is here to observe it all.

I know ~ just about everybody is experiencing difficult and dark times, both inside and as we watch the world roar on throwing tragedy in our faces day after day. We are not so sure if we should appreciate that we are still alive, participating in this life, but we have been left with a wasteland. And thats Scorpio, the detonation of everything to rise a new and powerful greatness, bleached in heaven’s radiance. Scorpio is always new life and new light. The seeds that were planted in Taurus have bloomed into blossoming sunflowers new babies, daisies, and inner wealth. It’s during these times the most beautiful and simple things, a newborn’s giggle, the sound of a panflute, the mango skyline as the sunsets that keep the spirit alive and thriving, God may just be a glass of water or a hug right now, lying with the person you love the most, letting your souls touch. We’ve got Mars and Venus conjunct Libra ~ all is fair in love and war, forming a T-square with an opposition to Uranus in Aries squaring Moon and Pluto in Capricorn. There is a fundamental need for attachment, like we crave the arms of others to weather us through the storm. When Pluto and the Moon conjunct the unconscious is bought into light, two forces that exist concealed are thrust into comprehension, assisted by the initiative Cardinal energies. There can be a pedantic expression with Moon and Pluto, emotions can become out of control and consume the mind. Depth psychology and philosophical problems are most easily examined. Look into the eyes of a baby, Scorpio is all about rebirth, the fertile Moon is cradling regenerative Pluto. New life sparkles, channels new, inventive divine wisdom and brings tremendous joy. Your eyes will sparkle a new life too, it’s all for you. -Cherry

Elisabeth Kubler Ross, July 8 1926, 10:45PM

I've told my children that when I die, to release balloons in the sky to celebrate that I graduated. For me, death is a graduation.Dying is something we human beings do continuously, not just at the end of our physical lives on this earth.”

The other day I noticed it was the birthday of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. I’m familiar with her story from my nursing training, but for those of you who don’t know, EKR was a Swiss psychiatrist who specialised in the dying process. Her ‘Five Emotional Stages of Death and Dying’ is a profound model that even after her death in 2004 remains in high esteem amongst the medical and psychiatric community. She viewed death as a ‘graduation’ from earth, and raised discussion about something most people regard as taboo or too scary to be spoken of. She wrote several books, all relating to the topic of death, including ‘Life after Death’, and ‘AIDS: The ultimate challenge’. In her chart we can pinpoint a propensity for discussion via the ever communicative third house Venus in Gemini. Gemini the messenger is at home in the writer’s third house, and Venus here indicates a love for the written word and sharing what is meaningful, accelerated by the sextile to sixth house Mercury in Leo. So, her service (sixth house) was directed through communicating what burns within her speaking (Mercury) heart (Leo). For EKR, this is the topic of life and passing over.

An interest in the dying process and the afterlife can be associated with a T-square with an eighth house Saturn in Scorpio apex. The eighth house is the house of ‘death’, combined with ultimate mentor Saturn in the forbidden Scorpio tomb. Here she was compelled to speak about taboo areas of life - death (Scorpio), and gain mastership (Saturn) over this domain of life. To accelerate Saturn’s affect, it forms the handle of the bucket chart, so all of her energies were directed through here. Saturn makes a square to twelfth house Jupiter in Aquarius. So here, we have the twelfth house where we reunite with the spirit guarded by jublient Jupiter. This could compel one’s promising view on death, where EKR  believed dying was a form of graduation - very fitting for the planet of ‘higher education’ when placed in the spirit house. A celebration, releasing balloons (Jupiter) when I go ‘home’ (twelfth house). This twelfth house Jupiter also likely relates to her search for guidance through ‘signs’ and ‘messages’, because this combination earmarks a great faith and spiritual occupation - a person who generally believes in a higher power. To form the T-square, Jupiter makes an opposition to Neptune in Leo in the sixth house squaring Saturn, so she likely believed that coaching others through their crossing to the other side was her act of service (sixth house) to the collective (Neptune). This eventuated into becoming a ‘master of death’, who passed Saturn’s school with honors. Very fitting for a Pisces ascending.

the ‘voice’ within (twelfth house) leading into the unknown (eighth house scorpio)

We have a strong fifth house emphasis which likely related to her own experiences during birth. Pluto in Cancer in the fifth house associates with her own traumatic (Pluto) birthing experiences when having her own children (fifth house) in which she suffered several miscarriages. But in Pluto’s majestic direction she learned the light of life (Pluto conjunct Sun) and developed a powerful resilience. We can associate a Sagittarius midheaven with physicians, because Sagittarius/Jupiter rule the realms of medicine and psychology, and this is very appropriate for a psychiatrist. A burly first house Mars in Aries meant she was a pioneer and frequently trailblazed into unknown territory, likely exaggerated by its first house conjunct to Uranus where she become a revolutionary (Uranus) in her area of research (trine Mercury). Her lasting legacy was truly helping people become comfortable with somewhere she had flown to numerous times in her life - the otherside.
