The "Hannity" panel was discussing the President's address at the National Prayer Breakfast last week, in which he said Islam was not the only religion with a history of violence.

"I was in that room," conservative activist Star Parker told host Sean Hannity. "And it was frankly verbal rape."

"Wow," said co-panelist and Fox personality Gerlado Rivera, folding his hands and looking into camera. "Yikes. Yikes."

"Oh, yeah," Parker said. She continued, but Hannity was still catching his breath after her remark.

"That's a harsh term," Hannity said.

Parker looked straight at Hannity.

"Verbal rape is what it was," she said.

Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.

The way Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) sees it, President Barack Obama has been supporting Islamic jihad “at every turn.”

"And I have been very surprised, to answer your question, to see the President of the United States, at every turn, cut the legs off of our ally, Israel, and in fact embrace and lift up the agenda of Islamic jihad," Bachmann said during an interview on Washington Watch, hosted by the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins.

Maher said it’s ridiculous for President Obama to claim ISIS isn’t Islamic, because looking at the actual beliefs of ISIS and many Muslims around the world shows that much of Islam “has too much in common with ISIS.”

Maher tore into liberal ideas of multiculturalism and non-judgment when it comes to whether certain belief systems are better. Maher said of course “liberal Western culture” is better than horrid theocracies where people’s rights are threatened every single day.

Because for all the ways Maher and others might insult Christianity, none of them are receiving death threats in response.

I know the arguments against speaking of Islam as violent and reactionary. It has a following of 1.6 billion people. Places such as Indonesia and India have hundreds of millions of Muslims who don’t fit these caricatures. That’s why Maher and Harris are guilty of gross generalizations. But let’s be honest. Islam has a problem today. The places that have trouble accommodating themselves to the modern world are disproportionately Muslim.

…There is a cancer of extremism within Islam today. A small minority of Muslims celebrates violence and intolerance and harbors deeply reactionary attitudes toward women and minorities. While some confront these extremists, not enough do so, and the protests are not loud enough. How many mass rallies have been held against the Islamic State (also known as ISIS) in the Arab world today?

The caveat, “Islam today,” is important. The central problem with Maher’s and Harris’s analyses are that they take a reality — extremism in Islam — and describe it in ways that suggest it is inherent in Islam. Maher says Islam is “the only religion that acts like the Mafia, that will [expletive] kill you if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture or write the wrong book.” He’s right about the viciousness but wrong to link it to “Islam” — instead of “some Muslims.”

President Obama expressed outrage over the slaying of reporter James Foley at the hands of ISIS , saying the group “speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just God would stand for what they did yesterday, and for what they do every single day.” The president also vowed to continue the American policy of conducting airstrikes against the organization. “The United States of America will continue to do what we must do to protect our people,” Obama said. “We will be vigilant and we will be relentless.”

D’Souza: With Obama you get this idea that his real enemies, from his point of view, it’s not Putin and it’s not Islamic radicals, it’s us. He’s waging a kind of war, a political war if you will, using the instruments of the state against conservatives and he’s good at that war and he’s fighting it aggressively. I don’t believe in this idea that Obama’s an amateur, he’s a bungler; no he’s very effective at what he wants to do.

Limbaugh on Tuesday told his listeners that the media’s “soap storyline of the hour” is whether or not Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer will veto SB 1062, which the state’s legislature passed last week.

“Religious beliefs can’t be used to stop anything the left wants to impose, unless they’re Muslim religious beliefs and then we have to honor those. But any other religious beliefs are not permitted,” Limbaugh said. “The left will not allow them. Now, the current thinking is that Gov. Brewer will probably veto the bill, which, you might think on the face of it will make her a hero with the news media and the rest of the left.”

Sure, it might make her a hero, he said — “for five minutes.” And then she’ll go back to being a “near criminal conservative Republican,” Limbaugh continued, because “their reaction will be, what took her so long? Why did she even consider not vetoing this?”

“She’s being bullied by the homosexual lobby in Arizona and elsewhere,” he said. “She’s being bullied by the nationwide drive-by media, she’s being bullied by certain elements of corporate America in order to advance the gay agenda. I guess in that circumstance bullying is admirable. In fact, this kind of bullying is honorable.”

1. Advancing the gay agenda. The only agenda here is that gays get the same treatment and protection under the law that everyone else does. There's nothing sinister about that.
2. The left favors Muslim religious beliefs at the expense of Christians. This bill is about letting Christians discriminate against gays under the guise of religion. Muslims are not accorded anything comparable. And more than this, the Arizona law is so broad that Muslims could discriminate against nonbelievers such as Christians, which "the left" also opposes here.

"Let me tell y'all a story. I went through the screening of an airport not too long ago and right in front of me there was an elderly lady," Boun continued. "TSA pulled her off to the side and patted her down. And then right behind her was a little kid and he got pulled to the side. I went through and right behind me was somebody dressed in eastern dress —man, single guy, traveling by himself. That's typically [described] as middle eastern and he went right through."

In the clip Broun did not explain why he thought this happened or if it was a coincidence.

Though the claims turned out to be false, Fischer said on his radio program yesterday that under the Constitution as it was originally written, individual states have the freedom and power to declare Islam to be illegal and prohibit Muslims from practicing it or building mosques.

Conservative media outlets were forced to issue embarrassing corrections Tuesday after running with the false accusation that President Obama excised the phrase "under God" when reciting the Gettysburg Address for a project organized by filmmaker Ken Burns. Burns has said that he asked Obama to read an early draft of the address, a draft that did not contain the phrase "under God."

Chris Plante, who hosts a morning radio show on Washington, D.C.-based WMAL, actually acknowledged at one point during his November 19 broadcast that an early version of the Gettysburg Address did not contain that phrase. But he still accused the president of plotting to "scratch out the phrase," after emphasizing that Obama was "the first black president." Plante then speculated that Obama would not have scratched out the phrase "under Allah" if it had been in the Gettysburg Address
