First, let me just point out the little factoid that the average temp on Mars is −55 °C (218 K; −67 °F). That’s colder than North Dakota, that’s how cold that is. The average temperature of Earth according to NASA figures is 15°C  or 16 C (59F-61F). Someone explain to Brandon Smith that the negative sign MEANS something when dealing with numbers.

You may need to start by explaining about negative numbers, or the numbers he cannot count on his toes.

Gohmert pointed out that a Congressional Research Service report revealed that President Thomas Jefferson, who coined the phrase “separation of church and state,” had also attended church services at Statuary Hall.

“But it was to be a one-way wall, where the state would not dictate to the church,” the Texas Republican insisted. “But the church would certainly play a role in the state.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) seemingly tied Christianity to U.S. national security during a bizarre speech on the House floor on Thursday, the Huffington Post reported.

“If you were completely areligious, completely atheistic, but you wanted to have a free country, and you wanted to have it safe and protected, then it would sound like, from historical purposes, that it might be a good thing to encourage those who believe in God to keep doing so,” Gohmert said. “Because when a nation’s leaders honor that God, that nation is protected. It’s only when it turns away that it falls.”
