5 Ways to Stay Productive this Summer
I like summer break, but binge watching Netflix and chowing down on junk isn’t the best thing to do. Here are 5 things I’m doing this summer to stay productive.
1. Working Out
The school year tends to get very hectic and I find little time to fit in workouts, so this summer will be filled with yoga and spin classes. You can go for runs, learn new fitness moves you couldn’t learn before, or get into shape.
2. Traveling
I’m planning a trip to the great state of California this summer and I am going to use it to tour colleges and connect with family and friends. I know traveling can get expensive, but you don’t have to go far. You can drive into the city and explore new restaurants, check out the huge libraries, catch a baseball game, etc.
3. Getting a Head Start on Studies
I am taking Anatomy and Physiology next year so there are ALOT of basic terms I have to learn. In my spare time I am coloring organs, describing locations, figuring out systems and memorizing. If you know there is a difficult course coming up, use this time to get in some studying. Read and annotate books you know you’ll have to read next year for English. That way, you won’t stress out so much when your class becomes more difficult.
4. Get a Job/Volunteer
To become more independent, you’re going to have to start making some dough. Either this money can be used to save for college, or put into a savings for something you really want. If you’re not working at a job, volunteer and do some service. You can usually look up a list of volunteer positions in your area and choose.
5. Relax
Even though staying productive in the summer is a good thing, you still have to make time to relax. You’ve been working hard all school year, take some time to relax. Not everything has to be fast paced. Spend time at the beach, sleeping in, hanging out with your friends. It’s called summer break for a reason. Although I am keeping myself busy this summer, I am also looking forward to grilling and hanging out with friends.

I guess the library's not having a good day.
I got bored studying at my desk so I switched to the 4 o’clock sunset on the floor. 🌅📚☺️
My philosophy on note taking: “Do it with a passion or not at all.”
