Tex and tucker hanging out and drinking.
how did you get into rvb? what was your first ship? Andddd when did you realize that the show was actually really sad?? like wtf rvb is surprisingly sad is it just me?
tv tropes, I clicked to see what rvb was about cause it pop up on like on 6 things and this was the sentence about the show that made me look in to it, it was about two teams fighting ‘Uhhh what a Bunch of Assholes, and dont get them started on the other team’ I laughed kinda hard and had to check it out. and It was STUPID Funny.
Chex. always and forever, I like Fandom Tuckington, but i dont really see it in the show. But Sometimes fans do stuff better so yay?
I have to go back to My last answer for that, Thats why I REALLY REALLY LOVE BG CHEX, The underlining story of BG Church and Tex was incredibly sad. BG implied that they were high school sweethearts that were maybe a little too young to feel the stuff they were feeling, with the war forcing them to grow up and experience things they weren't ready for, and ruined them for both anyone else, but also for one another. they didn't/couldn’t make one another happy anymore, but they were to damaged, trapped in this cycle of trying to make something broken work.. her leaving, and him chasing always. I have always said that season 9 in the unit stuff was great cause it was about Church FINALLY admitting to himself there was no fixing them. that the only way he was going to find peace was letting this broken thing he was chasing go.
It’s also why I bothers me so much that the Implied backstory was changed, aka they met at the military not in school, that Allison a woman in the army fighting human level extinction events and would love leonard so much that she would not only marry him but have a kid while in that fight. It really makes it hard to see how situation like that can get to the bitter angry gaping wound of relationship they had in BG without Church knowing something was very very wrong. Consider she is All he ever thinks about it make no sense. To me this Change really undercut alot of the sadness the show had to offer. Its partly why i think York and Carliona fails in my opinion. The underlining sadness is so much less poignant, they sort of imply if things had worked out better Carliona and York could have been happy. but Chruch and Tex happiness for them was long gone and was never ever coming back.
Happy Halloween!
Fun FACTS!
Wash’s Halloween costume was Designed SECONDS after Church’s Villan costume, this was the SOUL reason I wanted for Chruch to be a Disney fanboy. I’m not Joking when I said this has been in the works for months
Tex wasn’t even supposed to be in this, but Everything in me had to Put her an Ursula Costume to torture Church, I bet he couldn’t even get her to watch the little mermaid with him, let alone play out a Fantasy of his.
Tucker is wearing A jacket over his Slutty Texas costume cause as we all know slutty costumes are Freezing.
Junior went as Wash.
Cabooses is going to follow Wash around for a Week confusing him for Church.
Church will wake up Junior, feed him a shit ton of candy and Put on the Little mermaid, which Junior at this point which junior considers scary since the amount of times he has been subjected to it, makes him consider the movie Torture.
Angst prompt: Church watches as Tex choses to save someone over him
This was so hard to do! I couldn’t for the Life of me come up with anything longer then this cause every time I tried to come up with anything longer the dialogue turned into Bickering children.

Disclaimer: Red vs Blue and related characters are the property of Rooster Teeth. Warnings: Language, Canon-typical violence Pairings: Chex Rating: T Synopsis: [Hero Time Prequel] Her name is Tex and she’s got a righteous fury to burn into her crappy neighborhood, whether the city wants her or not. Being a superhero, however, is never quite as simple as it seems, and only gets more complicated by her constantly in distress boyfriend and the beck and call of the premiere superhero team of the city whose leader seems intent on keeping her off the roster.
A/N: I apologize for being a day late with this one, guys! I’m both on vacation this week and also kind of anxious about this chapter because it answers a whole lot of stuff and sets us up for the final five chapters, which are an explosive romp. I hope you guys all enjoy!

Days of Future Past
The air was thick and choking, and despite herself Tex was having a hard time adjusting her eyes. There was something hot and wrong about the world around her.
And she was far from the community college cafeteria, that much was for sure.
In the daze, she had almost forgotten her grip on Carolina’s wrist – or even Carolina at all – until the other superhero slipped from her hold.
“What the fuck just happened?” Tex demanded, turning her full attention on the speedster. “Where did you take me?”
Time Travel Speeders, Rena you sly dog, thats my weakeness and you know it
So what are some key differences in BG Tex and PF Tex? From your perspective?
Im only going to Give 1 example, cause its been years since I Watched PF seasons and I didn’t like enough in them to re-watch, and its not worth subjecting myself to a re-watch to point out all my problems
Tex is no longer Greedy and over confident, both negative Character flaws that in the past the made her fail In places where she would succeeded . instead she is now ‘Programmed to fail’
From my perspective this is the one of the worst things you can do to a Character, not only did they take away her Flaws in an attempt to make things more ‘tragic’ this small thing also also strip a her as a person, she is no longer responsible for her action because she Is ‘programmed’ nothing she can do can change ’being programmed.’ this takes any attempt any chance Character growth away from her.
Quick question. A while back when you were answering an ask about Tex you mentioned that you loved the reason that the character was brought into the show in the first place. I just wanted to know what you meant by this? Like what was so important about the addition of her character?
Okay so I don’t know if this is 100% true, but when I meet Kathleen her voice actor, Very early on in season 1 Burnie was on the phone talking to her about the show, and she was the one who said “you need a chick, but not a Token Chick, like one mean hard ass bitch,” and according to her they were done with the Episodes 10 at that point. and thats why at the end of the next one her voice modulator breaks. and Tex is revealed to be a girl
There is no Doubt that adding her was important addition, because over time Church’s motivation/Story was all about her. (its part of the reason Epsilon is so weak as a character compared to Alpha. he has no real motivation after 9.)
The thing that I find Really important about her Was Tex was just allowed to be Mean, Greedy, Selfish. She gets to be a Rotten bitch, and she is not treated once like she is wounded or has some Damage. My favorite line of spoken about her is this
- Tucker: So, the military put this program in her head, and that program made her a killer, but underneath it all she's really just a sweet, down-home girl?
- Church: Oh hell no. She's always been a rotten bitch. It's just now she's a rotten bitch with cybernetic enhancements.
in a world were most media depicts Angry women= Damaged in some way. It to me has Always been nice to see Just an angry bitch, who doesn’t need to be fixed. she is Just an aggressive Woman, and as some one who is a bitch, its nice to see one portrayed like that as nothing is wrong with being one.
And that is why I dislike PF Tex (beta) so much , She feels like a different character. if you Play clips of that next to BG Tex they are so drastically different Character. That I HAVE to believe, that Beta Tex died in the assault, and BG Tex is another Cast off.
And a real big part of me wonders if that is part of the reason they Kathleen left, (on top the other stuff) That the cool Badass not a token Chick. Got Turned into one.
Hero Time: The red's plan a Heist, The objective to steal a toy from Church's stash as birthday present to Junior "The present is making Church miserable, the toy is just proof its from us." Bonus points if they rope Tex in or get lectured by Wash. gold star if both happens
As with most everything that involved the Reds, Wash found that the disaster was only complex in its simplicities. As in, the execution was something to be marveled when considering the Reds’ independent talents, but the way it all fell apart was less surprising then also.
What really got him was the fact that Tex had the audacity to stand on their side of the standoff with absolutely no remorse whatsoever.
“How badly do you have to be scorned to have agreed to do this?” Wash asked her rather plainly.
“How dare you,” Tex fired back. “I am petty and ruthless enough that I wouldn’t have had to be scorned at all to go along with this.”
some gets a gold star! ☆
I needed to do this trashy adorableness Quick before church messes things up again.

A/N: So by my standards this chapter is LATE and I can’t apologize enough for that, real sorry guys. I don’t have much of a defense besides the fact that things just got a little more hectic than called for in my regular life but I’m back! And I hope to not get so behind on updates again!

The World’s Finest
“Snazzy. Back in black, I see!”
Tex looked at the mirror a little longer, her half cocked smirk looking good with the black and yellow ensemble on her person. The gloves were a nice touch, even if the boots would stand as her favorite accessory regardless. She hated to hand anything to Church, but he damn sure seemed to know how to send design specs for her style.
When she was fully finished with soaking in her appearance, Tex finally turned enough to see York’s head and shoulders sticking through the wall. His visor might have been on but she could tell he was assessing her, eyes probably more focused than his easy smile would betray.
i was really torn here i was so tempted to the last bit of this chapter over showing CT costume...but she got shafted last chapter

A/N: Oh man, I almost missed my self-imposed Monday deadline for these chapters! Which I have to blame entirely on finally getting around to watching this amazing superhero anime, My Hero Academia, this weekend to celebrate having Memorial Day off. I do not regret it one bit, though, because as you guys probably know by now, I have a thing for superheroes ; ) Hope the semi-late chapter is still enjoyable!

Dark Victory
With Tex’s particular powers it was entirely unnecessary to keep up appearances by working out. Like her father before her, her strength never proved to increase with the tone of her muscles or decrease with atrophy. Her finesse and control – things she had long ago mastered – were the only factors that seemed malleable.
Still, working out seemed to be the only thing that made her blood pump and kept her focus.
Or, rather, it also helped her completely ignore things. Tune out annoying voices as it were.
“You’re honestly not going to turn on the webcam,” Church scoffed from the computer, his face scrunching up on the monitor. “This is unbelievable! I haven’t gotten to see you in, what, two weeks and you can’t turn on the webcam?”
“Nope,” Tex grunted in the midst of another chin up on the bar over her Freelancer bunker bed.
Ct better show up again cause there was no way Im was sharing the Glory of this costume with a good costume.

A/N: Whoooooo This is coming from my first vacation in six months! So I apologize for the tardiness. I’m hoping I make up for it in plot development and hilarity ; )

The Court of Freelancer
Nothing had made Tex feel like more of a nerd in her entire life than the night she set the tattered, ripped, gross-covered remains of her epic homemade costume into a fire and filled her tote bag with books instead.
Handbooks straight from York to be accurate.
The Freelancer had seemed rather confident that Tex could, obeying the letter of the law strictly, become a Freelancer within the next six months given her raw talent and potential as a superhero. When she learned that the Carolina character had managed it in three months, Tex had all the inspiration she needed to get it done in one.
Look I remembered Church’s face damage! I am not ashamed to admit Caboose’s Costume is a merge of My favorite legion costume’s.. and look we have a Face for Caboose for the first time.
arirashkae replied to your post:For the meme: Tex!
I handwave/headcanon the “Tex is programmed to fail” bit by insisting that it’s Church’s own unreliable viewpoint, because Alpha’s been conditioned by to take the blame for everything (and Epsilon remembers all that). So if Tex always fails and he created Tex, it must be part of her core programming from when he made her, because it’s always his fault. If that makes any sense to you.
thats not a bad way to look at, it just i dont see how the Director can think she died cause of him. Cause the alpha speaks at one point like he was at fault for what happen between them. its one thing if it was Just Epislon, but Alpha too. At some core level in the Alpha had to know He wasn’t at Fault. The Director was studying for a doctorate and raising their kid while she was at war. how can he spin that on himself, that she should have been home and he went fighting the war?
Blaming himself That could work if they used the Pre-freelancer backstory stuff (where they had no child) where the were highschool sweethearts who joined up, he could Twist that on himself by thinking if he had been a better fighter, a ‘better man’. he could have taken her place in the special ops and she wouldn’t have died. years and years past, Her being better then him and dieing he could absolutely twist onto himself, fit the ‘programmed to Fail’ narrative. but the way PF frames them. Her having a Super dangerous job and then dieing from it, Equals is always going to fail?
For the meme: Tex!
My unpopular opinion about this character CAN TALK FOR WEEKS ABOUT TEX! but I will contain myself.. or Try to
- How I feel about this character
I LOVE HER. to me is one of the top science fiction females ever.
- she is aggressive, and abrasive and they never apology to to change that about her, she gets to be a bitch.
- she is freaking funny.
- she is as far from the token girl as they come, out of any one on rvb she has the least interest in her love interest that is Hilarious.
Everything about Tex is gold, from her ‘i get shit done attitude.’ to the ‘I will put my quest for revenge on hold for ten bucks.’ to her ‘ the only response to your dumbass is furious dead silence ‘
- All the people I ship romantically with this character
Just Church..
- My non-romantic OTP for this character
non-romantic? hands down Tucker all the best bits of the of her are with Tucker not Church, Their sibling Friendship is Just gold.
- My unpopular opinion about this character
The whole ‘she is designed to fail cause that’s how Dr Church remember her… being programmed to fail". strips away her flaws, she ‘fails’ by being greedy and overconfident in the early seasons . But when you look at the freelancer, back story she is almost a new person from the Tex we have always known because they had changed so much for the new story to work.
they felt they HAD to write in a reason why a powerful robot nearly indestructible just doesn’t always win. because that story didn’t have room for the flaws we have seen bringing her down previously, so their way around that was she was ‘programmed to fail’ Instead of Tex failing when things line up against her. and her just having shitty luck most of the time.
- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
I wish they would just make it so It was three different Tex’s the PF Tex, the BGC Tex, and EPTex it never made sense to me that after she PF would stick around after the events of the crash.
