S4 -S6 Killers Tier List + Explanations

  • Larry and Horatio are awful, vile people, but they're interesting characters and very effective antagonists. Arresting them was INCREDIBLY satisfying, with Horatio having one of the most satisfying arrests in all of CC.
  • Kev being murdered was one of the most satisfying moments in all of CC
  • I'll be honest, the only reason I like Felix Murray is because he looks like Seamus from s4 lmao
  • I am not excusing anything Louis, Bateman, or Brock Perry did in the game. They are all--especially the first two--very bad people. I'm just saying I think they're interesting characters. Do not come for me I beg
  • S5 is my second favorite season, but I can't stand half of the University characters, and despise all but one of the killers there lmao. Also, Junior Ad Astra, I am your biggest enemy, what annoying af tools

I'll probably end up making a tier list template for S7 and S8 since the website doesn't have that pre-made (as far as I know, I could be wrong). That's going to take a while...sigh.

Veronica Rochester Headcanons

@takoluka-magurofever , you requested Veronica Rochester headcanons as well, and I am here to deliver! Spoilers, and TW for period-typical sexism and controlling families.

  • When she was growing up, her family had a butterfly garden in their residence. Veronica loved to go there and sit amongst the plants, watching butterflies fly about, and they loved her, landing on her hands. 
  • Her and Malcolm’s marriage was arranged. There is not nor ever has been a single iota of love between the two of them.
  • More specifically, Veronica’s distillery business that she has in-game originally was owned by Horatio, and she worked for him. He saw what an ambitious, intelligent person she was, and wanted her on his side. So he made a deal: if she married his nephew Malcolm, she could have his distillery business. 
  • Birds really like her, too. There have been several moments where she’s gotten birds to eat out of her hands. 
  • Figured out almost immediately that Malcolm was unfaithful to her, but because of how she felt apathy at best towards him, she didn’t care. 
  • Not super close to Archie, either. Shortly after he was born, she left the child-rearing to Malcolm and went back to her business in Crimson Banks, which wasn’t a great place for Archie to be for long periods of time thanks to his asthma. However, the two of them occasionally exchanged letters, including when Archie was in Switzerland. When Archie came back to Concordia and briefly assisted her in her distillery business, she barely treated him differently from any of her other employees.
  • She’s very much obsessed and a strict adherer to schedules. She plans out her day the night before and sticks to it like clockwork.
  • The only times she ever really goes to Ivory Hill is when Malcolm is campaigning and needs to play the role of the supportive politician’s wife, or when Malcolm tells her to plan some sort of political banquet. 
  • She’s worked with Lissa and Samson Drake several times to plan such banquets. Ironically, she privately thought that Samson was setting himself up for quite the disappointment when Malcolm inevitably backstabbed him, but figured how he reacted to such a betrayal wouldn’t be any of her business. 
  • She has a happy ending because okay she’s SMART and there’s a ton that’s left ambiguous pertaining to her but basically, I have this whole headcanon fanfiction thing that. She wanted to start her own business away from the Rochesters, under her maiden name, but knew that she’d need to be smart to get out of the family, especially with her finances being controlled by Malcolm and Horatio. So what she did was, as she couldn’t open a bank account by herself due to her gender back then, she, over the time span of over a decade, slowly deposited money from her business earnings into safes hidden around her manor. She had to fudge some calculations and the like for inventory, products sold, etc., to avoid arousing suspicion from Malcolm, as she slowly built up wealth in private. Then, shortly after the start of Ivory Hill, she took up her accumulated wealth and vanished, taking some products and equipment with her, leaving Concordia, never to be seen again. The “business trip” that Malcolm said she was on in Tipping the Scales was her cover. Her family lost power, but she was gone. Who knows when, or even if, she found out about her son’s murder or her family’s fall from grace. She set up her business elsewhere to great success.

Of course! Sorry this took a second, I was struggling to think of some for her. I hope you like these!

Spoilers!

  • There were actually quite a few people who witnessed her crimes/suspected her of being the Scarlet Slayer, but never said anything due to how afraid they were of the Flanagan siblings and how much they distrusted the police/how useless the police were at dealing with rampant crime in Sinner’s End.
  • Definitely had plans for killing Irving Blackmoor, due to the horrific way he treated his female patients, especially prostitutes. 
  • On the flip side, she actually had a good deal of respect for Barnaby Wilson, due to him being one of the few doctors in all of Concordia who would treat all of his patients with equality and kindness, including prostitutes and gang members.
  • Has a number of false teeth.
  • She and Vittorio had a shootout when they broke up. She’s a masterful shot, and he barely managed to escape without dying. Compared to him, she received relatively few injuries. 
  • Has a sizable library filled with books, magazines, and plays. She is familiar with Pistols and Petticoats and Phantom of the Opera/Cabaret.
  • The instance where she had a conversation with Judge Lawson after his appointment involved her sending some of her men to knock him out/drug him, kidnap him, dump him on the floor of her office, and her waiting patiently for him to wake up while sitting on her desk, sipping alcohol. You can imagine his reaction when he woke up.
  • Had at least fifty different distilleries scattered around Sinner’s End. 
  • Has definitely poisoned people while talking to them in her office by lacing their alcohol with something. She is The Viper after all. (Yes, I know snakes are venomous, not poisonous.) 
  • Is largely self-taught when it comes to reading. She picked up on it very quickly. Reading is one of the ways she relaxes after a long day, and taught herself how to read and understand quite complicated literature, from the classics to science to math to history.

Of course! Thank you for asking! I love talking about the Rochesters!

  • Larry has broken into his factory so many times to interrupt tours, work, and cause general mischief out of boredom that Rockley has guards positioned all throughout his factory for the sole purpose of locating Larry and kicking him out should he trespass, as he has been banned from the premises.
  • After he was rescued from the communal dungeon in Best Laid Plans, he was so grateful to the player character, Dick, Charlie, and Isaac for saving his life, he hugged all four of them-including Dick and Charlie, who he’d never met in person before--out of overwhelming gratitude 
  • Although he’d never met Dick and Charlie before, he certainly knew of them, considering Rockley always kept up with the events of the World Exhibition every year, fascinated by the inventions and intellect presented annually by inventors and engineers.
  • Before he retired, he selected a very promising employee from his factory and made them the new owner of his chocolate factory, instructing them to do the same when they retired. Rochester Chocolates canonically exists in the modern day games, although the current owner has no blood relation to Rockley/the Rochesters. 
  • I low-key ship Rockley and Isaac due to Isaac’s adorable reaction to Rockley gifting him a chocolate chess set in Sweet Revenge lol (I have all sorts of crack ships with the Rochesters lmao)
  • Never really cared about speculating about Mr. Alastor’s identity, even though his chocolate factory was used as a venue a few times throughout the years.
  • His hair color is naturally brown, but he dyes it black, and has been doing so for at least fifteen years.
  • He doesn’t like children, but he once had to babysit Archie as a child. Archie nearly died several times thanks to the lack of guardrails on high walkways, pots of boiling liquids, chocolate rivers (I headcanon Archie can’t swim), and the like.
  • He and his employees have definitely almost died several times due to experimenting with and trying to fix various machines and the like in their factory. OSHA would have a few things to say to him, even if his factory is pretty well-maintained and clean for late Victorian era standards. 
  • Horatio has bothered and harassed him several times, trying to get him to abandon his “useless” factory and do something to help the family politically. This causes tons of arguments where Leopold is caught in the middle, as Leopold wants his son to be happy, but also thinks he should be more responsible. 
  • Strongly dislikes Horatio, has a poor relationship with Larry and Malcolm, has a bit of a complicated relationship with his father, respects Veronica as a fellow ambitious business owner but the two of them don’t spend much time together or talk, barely knows anything about Patricia, gets along well with Bernadine even if he rarely leaves his chocolate factory, and didn’t interact a ton with Archie outside of formal/official family occasions/meetings (even though Archie has a sweet tooth and loves Rockley’s factory’s sweets). Despite all of that, however, he usually gives discounts/occasional free products to (most) of his family members. 
  • Despite his relationship with his father not always being the best, the two of them love to talk and gush about the inventions and the like presented at the World Exhibition.

Spoilers for Mysteries of the Past incoming!

  • She actually was planning on spending time with Steven the Sunday following their anniversary. She’d scheduled time for him in the afternoon and evening, figuring she’d be more free then rather than the night of their anniversary itself. 
  • She never thought that Larry would actually accept her job offer, she only extended it because Malcolm and Horatio kept complaining about how useless he was and how his lifestyle was making their family look bad. She was just trying to stay on their good side by trying to do something about Larry. She was not surprised by his reaction at being offered a job.
  • She was very openly a suffragette supporter, and donated to and lobbied for the movement. 
  • When Archie presented his clock tower idea to her, she stared at him for a few moments, not sure if he was being serious and when she realized he was, she genuinely considered going up to Malcolm and Veronica and telling them they failed as parents. 
  • Her parents are dead, but she’s actually quite close to her siblings, and likes her in-laws as well. Although work doesn’t allow her to visit them very often, she enjoys exchanging letters with them. In general, she and Steven get along very well with each others’ families!
  • She doesn’t get nearly as much sleep as she should, and she gets up quite early in the morning, usually at City Hall before the mayor.
  • To relax, she likes to drink tea, read, and write in her study. She likes reading mysteries, and she likes to write in her journal. Steven found her journal after she died, and, after debating with himself for some time, decided not to read it, but kept it with him, along with other keepsakes he had of her. 
  • She found herself on the Rochesters’ radar when she worked at City Hall and Malcolm noticed how intelligent and ambitious she was, and immediately informed Horatio about her, figuring they could use her quite effectively. (I hate Malcolm as well as Horatio.)
  • There was one time before Larry that she fought against something the Rochesters were doing. At the height of Malcolm’s senatorial career and campaigns, she realized the staggering amount of people disappearing, dying, and being institutionalized was obviously not a coincidence, and she said as much in an intense, heated argument with Malcolm. (She was willing to accept bribes for covering up their political wrongdoings, especially considering the Rochesters were an incredibly powerful family, but straight up murder was not something she was exactly comfortable with.) He responded by saying that if she quit working with the Rochesters or voiced any of her suspicions, Steven would end up dead or in the asylum. She kept quiet after that until the Larry incident. 
  • She genuinely liked Leopold, and he liked her. She found him to be rather refreshingly authentic and kind, unlike everyone in politics, and he found her to be ambitious and intelligent, just like the inventors he supported. They had lunch together for work-related reasons a few times, and had rather pleasant chats. When he realized she was corrupt, he was upset and felt slightly betrayed, but recognized that she had died trying to protect him, in a way, and attended her funeral.

Yes of course! I'll start with Leopold, and then later make a different post for Diego. I love Leopold, he's such a sweetheart :)

Spoilers for Mysteries of the Past and TW for death and abuse.

  • During the holidays, he often volunteers at soup kitchens, orphanages, shelters, churches, and other similar places, hoping to help the less fortunate as much as possible. Similarly, he often donates to various academic institutions and charities. 
  • Out of everyone in the family, he was the kindest to Veronica, feeling awful that her husband was frequently unfaithful to her, and tried to be as welcoming and warm to her as possible.
  • He was the only member of the Rochester family who died in the game who had a funeral whose attendance included people outside of the family. Horatio wanted to keep Clarissa and Archie’s funerals a family-only affair, not wanting people to come to private Rochester estates and memorials to gossip and talk about members of the Rochester family being murdered, as Horatio thought that would make the family look weak. However, once that crusty mf was in prison, Rockley and Bernadine organized a funeral where many people could attend and celebrate Leopold’s accomplishments, good deeds, and life.
  • Considering Horatio had pretty much disowned Patricia, he didn't organize a funeral for her. However, her brother did, and Leopold was one of the few attendees at Patricia's funeral.
  • I headcanon that Bernadine, Malcolm, and Monty’s parents died when the three of them were children, and Leopold took in Bernadine and Monty, raising them alongside his own sons and providing a safe, comforting environment for them. Because of this, Bernadine saw Leopold as not only an uncle, but a father figure. 
  • Leopold is an excellent singer, and has Christmas caroled multiple times throughout the years.
  • Leopold’s wife died of tuberculosis shortly after Larry was born.
  • Leopold tried to visit Patricia in the asylum several times after Horatio imprisoned her there, concerned for his sister-in-law and her “sudden break from sanity and reality,” as Horatio put it, considering Patricia had seemed healthy. However, as Horatio had ordered any visitors Patricia might have be turned away, staff never permitted Leopold from visiting her, telling him she was in no condition to be seen. When he was finally able to visit her, she no longer recognized him. (Yeah, you can probably tell I hate Horatio).
  • Despite this, Leopold did try to visit Patricia even if she didn’t know who he was, bringing her small gifts such as potted plants and flowers, despite Horatio’s disapproval of such visits. 
  • He was invited to several of Mr. Alastor’s parties (before the ones where people were murdered), but almost always declined, as the parties fell at the same time when Leopold was working on setting up and running the World Exhibition.

I wanted to draw a few of my favorite couples in February for Valentine's Day, but alas I was only able to draw about two 😅 but anyways, I saw this one drawing reference and thought "oh this is perfect for my favorite rare pair"

Archie has about the strength of a twig (yeah that worked out poorly for him) and honestly Elisa is probably decently strong/fit from being able to throw such good punches and from running around at parties carrying stuff. She could throw him over her shoulder no problem. And fun fact: despite being 4-5 inches shorter than Archie, she's 10 pounds heavier than him. It's all muscle fr.

Maybe Lawson and Castletown are arguing about Malcolm, corruption, or something else. Either way, Sebastian is the most rational person in Ivory Hill.

So Justin Lawson and his late fiance aren't technically my FAVORITE couple, but I've already drawn my actual favorite couples lol. But I do think they are quite interesting, considering the massive impact Abigail's death had on Justin and how much it influenced his character development. And something tells me she wouldn't be happy with how he turned out in Capital Peak, so have her ghost glaring disapprovingly at him.
