I had so much fun writing this little snippet and I hope you enjoy it, too. The ending wound up being a little sadder than I meant, but I couldn't help myself. 😈

Sage didn’t even bother opening his eyes as he heard the quiet rustling and not-so-quiet giggling coming from behind him, followed by even louder “shush!”-ing and more giggles. He kept his eyes on the book in his hands, casually turning a page he hadn’t read, mentally counting down.
