@aburakhiaibrahim and his family, including his elderly parents and 15 children, are struggling to survive in the midst of constant bombings, destruction, and an orchestrated famine.
Their campaign is going far too slow, receiving about one donation per day and sometimes going days between donations. As we know, prices in Gaza are absurdly high, so this is not enough to support a family.
Even a small donation can make a huge difference. Donations add up! If you have the means, please contribute, and if not, share and reblog. Anything helps!
There is still a long way to go. I hope you can help me achieve my goal.🙏
My campaign is still going slowly and the road is long💔😏
‘Children of Shatila’ (Lebanon, 1998) film by Mai Masri. In this scene the youth of the Palestinian refugee camp interview an elder with a video camera.
Military intentionally poaches people from poor neighborhoods with low education rates in some of the most persistent and downright predatory ways possible but pop off ig.
Every study that has looked into it from both left-wing and right-wing sources has found that, contrary to popular belief, the middle and upper-middle classes are overrepresented among U.S. military recruits, while low-income backgrounds are actually under-represented (altought not as underrepresented as the upper class). All demographic studies agree that the vast majority of military recruits come from relatively affluent white families with plenty of economic oportunities and join the military of their own volition and not as a means to escape poverty.
“…our analysis suggests that, despite the increasing economic inequality and the erosion of many low-skill occupational opportunities, the U.S. military has not become a refuge for the less fortunate,” write authors Andrea Asoni, Andrea Gilli, Mauro Gilli and Tino Sandanaji in “A mercenary army of the poor? Technological change and the demographic composition of the post-9/11 U.S. military,” a report published January in the Journal of Strategic Studies.
The U.S. Military DOES target economically disadvantaged people as a recruitment tool, and this is both morally repugnant and a problem to be acknowledged, but the economically disadvantaged kid who joined the military because they had no other opportunities and it was their one shot to escape poverty is nowhere near as representative of the majority of military recruits as the relatively wealthy white kid who joined out of “love for their country” or a similarly jingoistic reason.
While economically disdvantaged people who were targeted and economically coerced into joining the military definitely exist, they aren’t representative of the average military recruit; and the narrative that they are is as popular as it is because it happens to present a convenient and progressive-sounding way to both dismiss criticism of members of the U.S. military and re-center the suffering of American citizens as the primary victims of the U.S. military over the suffering of the people getting slaughtered by them in the global south.
Also, even if the US military did predominantly draw upon the poorest (which is not true, as mentioned the middle-income are most highly drawn upon), poverty does not excuse you. Becoming a murderer of people around the world because you get a cut of their wealth is not a justification.
In a small war-torn town, Sami and Lina were neighbors and best friends. Their laughter used to echo through the narrow streets, their games bringing light to a place shadowed by conflict. They shared everything: dreams, fears, and even a secret hideout where they’d escape the chaos around them.
One night, as the sky lit up with flashes of destruction, Sami whispered to Lina, “One day, we’ll fly away from here. Like birds, free and happy.” Lina nodded, clutching his hand tightly.
But dreams of escape were cruelly cut short. A sudden explosion destroyed their homes, silencing their laughter forever.
The next moment, Sami and Lina found themselves weightless, with golden wings shimmering on their backs. They looked at each other, confused, yet strangely at peace. Below them, the ruins of their world faded as they rose higher, hand in hand.
“Are we… flying?” Lina asked, her voice filled with wonder.
Sami smiled, a tear glistening in his eye. “I told you we’d fly away one day.”
Together, they soared over barbed wires and broken walls, leaving behind the pain and destruction. The sky embraced them, and for the first time, they felt truly free. They were no longer victims of war but angels of hope, watching over those who remained, their spirits unbroken and their bond eternal.🥹

Happy New Year of The Snake by Hayao Miyazaki! The artwork is accompanied by the following message from the studio:
“We would like to extend the warmest of New Year’s greetings to you all. Thank you for always supporting Studio Ghibli. Last year began with a series of natural disasters and accidents, making it a year that started with a heavy heart. We sincerely hope that those affected by these events can return to their normal lives as soon as possible, and we pray from the bottom of our hearts that those in other areas can enjoy a peaceful New Year without any incidents. Regarding Studio Ghibli, we have almost completed the worldwide release of The Boy and the Heron and not only have many people seen it, but we have also received many awards. In addition, we are currently in the process of touring exhibitions and developing new projects, so we hope that you will look forward to them. The second area of Ghibli Park has opened successfully, and all five areas that were originally planned have now been completed. This year, we will strive to further enhance and improve our facilities and operations. Studio Ghibli will resume work on Monday, 6 January. Director Hayao Miyazaki’s 84th birthday falls on the preceding day, but staff will most certainly celebrate with him at the studio on this day. Thank you for your continued support of Studio Ghibli and Studio Ghibli works this year. 2025.1.1.”
If you feel freedom and some humanity, help us and donate to us, you are our last hope. Please, please, my father is begging you to donate for an operation that will help him walk again.
My father needs treatment to relieve pain, and other treatments and visits to doctors, and all of them have a price.. Honestly, I cannot bear to see my father in pain. From the pain, he does not sleep. He needs medicines and painkillers. All of that is expensive and requires $200 per week. Your donation, even if it is small, is increasing.. Please save what The rest of us 🙏🏻🙏🏻🍉🍉
My heroic friends who support the Palestinian cause... After we have lost hope in this world, I ask you to help us and stand with us. 🙏🏻

this is a comic my dear friend @wolf-aid had made using batman both because he’s a very dear character to me and because we are hoping that a popular character will bring more attention to the comic itself.
the comic says most of what i can say already — but i’ll say it again. ibrahim is an incredibly sweet young man who i’ve been close friends with for a few months now. he and his family need help to be warm, to eat, to get medicine, and to survive — hopefully soon they can escape their awful circumstances.
please have a heart: donate what you can, reblog this post, and pay attention to ibrahim’s campaign.
thank you for the beautiful comic💖 lets all help ibrahim🙏

I’ve got my tumblr inbox turned off so I really have to commend the person who actually emailed me to let me know they don’t like the things I’ve posted about the UnitedHealth CEO being murdered on their commitment to their beliefs.
But seen as how you emailed me from a dud email that appears to be bouncing back replies and I really wanted to address something you said to me about violence begetting violence:
My migraine medication, the medication I was given for my debilitating neurological disease that has gotten so bad I spent most of this year actively suicidal, costs $1300 a month.
My insurance covered it. But only because my doctors office went to fucking war for me because I’m a high anaphylaxis risk for the drugs the insurance wanted me to try.
Because that’s the thing.
My doctors knew, based on my documented medical history, I likely wouldn’t be a good fit for the “first line” of preventative migraine drugs, but because of insurance, I had to be given drugs that were contradictory to my other life threatening conditions, because otherwise insurance wouldn’t cover anything else.
I failed them. Spectacularly and with an anaphylactic reaction to one of them. And I was still warned insurance would fight me because I hadn’t tried the remaining drug they wanted me to try.
A drug which I would have to take in an ER waiting room because my mast cell disease is unpredictable but insurance wouldn’t cover in-patient treatment to let me try it safely under medical supervision.
Is that not violence?
Were all the times I was denied coverage for vital and necessary procedures that could have prevented my disabilities from worsening not violence?
Maybe not in the sense you mean. But I assure you it felt very much like violence to me.
Do I condone murder? No, obviously. But I’m also sick and tired of people pretending that what is happening to the American people every day isn’t eugenics through class warfare.
Violence begets violence.
It sure fucking does.
Maybe these insurance companies should have thought of that first.
And before anyone says "well then just pay for it yourself. why are you expecting insurance to just pay for these for you when you won't follow their protocol?" because the pricing is a racket.
The cost of medication is a racket CAUSED by the insurance company.
The insurance company is not paying $1,300 a month for these drugs, are you kidding? They're not paying hundreds-of-thousands of dollars of hospital stays. They'd never make a dime of profit that way.
The insurance companies have "negotiated rates". They're paying a fraction of what you're being charged out of pocket. And by keeping out-of-pocket prices high, it ensures the insurance companies get to keep existing.
Your medications do not cost that obscene price. The reason they don't cost that much in every other developed country is because they do not cost that price.
But America makes it that way, so the insurance companies remain an absolute necessity. They rake in obscene amounts of money by artificially creating their own need to exist, and the NEED for you to go through them for life saving medication. They created the situation where they're in complete control over you, and are allowed to deny you the medicine they alone control at its actual price point.
I find that violent.
Samurai Champloo - 08
(grabs you by the shoulders) you have to make room for new experiences in your life. you have to go through the unpleasant work of leaving your comfort zone, even if just for a few minutes at a time. because if you don't, your brain will trick you into stagnation. you will start to believe that the world can barely fit you in it. but that's not true. it's the opposite way around. you can fit the whole word inside of you. your task is only this: to welcome it with open arms
Love the tags!
My lecturer has repeatedly told us: you have to learn to sit with your discomfort.
You have to do the hard, new, different thing, and slog through until it becomes neutral. This is how we grow.

Ok, they failed to get a majority again on Thursday but for some reason it's going to come back again!? And a horrifying number of EU countries are still in favour of it.
@abo-ataa , the person who was behind distributing items for HelpGazaChildren, is fundraising for his family to purchase necessary items to keep them warm this winter.
If you've been following the news about HGC, you'll know that gofundme and PayPal closed both his campaigns and gofundme even closed his personal campaign where he had a lot of money he was going to use. Now he has only $1000, which is nowhere near enough for him and his family to survive. Can everyone try to help him out?!
Ill be donating from my own funds soon, so please make sure to help him out!! He wasn't even able to buy a proper tent because he was prioritizing helping others first!
This campaign has had no donation for days! It's only 1,071$/$30,000! Please guys, help hussam!!
