As much as I loved the Monster Hunter World and Final Fantasy XIV crossover event, I felt it was a real missed opportunity for crossing the design aesthetics as well. I thought it would be really neat to draw Rathalos in the style of Final Fantasy monster design. I really love the FF summon designs and wanted to play in that design language for a bit. To do this I even went back to the basics and for the first time in 7 years got a real physical pencil out to do the lines. I worked really hard on the lines, boy pencil is much more work than I recalled. I then scanned the piece and did the digital colors. I had a lot of fun with this guy. Its much harder to draw a monster that you’ve never hunted before @capcomunity

Monster Hunter style Venusaur to go with my Charizard.  I figure he burrows into the forest floor to lure in unsuspecting hunters.  He also has spore pods on his arms that he can shake to afflict hunters randomly with poison, sleep, or paralysis.  I may do Blastoise and armors for these guys if you like them.

Been tinkering with the idea of a Monster Hunter monster version of Charizard.  Maybe I'll flesh this idea out more someday.  You should pretend this this is like leaked concept art for Pokemonster Hunter if you show it to someone.

The Pokemonster Hunter icons I made for my 3DS skin, only in color.  They have transparent backgrounds so if you want to use them for an avatar or whatever.  Just credit me when necessary :)

Speedpaint/color rough.  I'd like to work more on this someday, maybe finish it as a print for cons, but right now I got other stuff to get done. 

That hunter deserves his fate, bringing a fire weapon to a Rathalos fight, filthy casual.
