Took a year to complete this quilt! Pattern is by NASA Astronaut Karen Nyberg called Cupola View. Fabrics used were also designed by Karen, the collection is called Earth Views.

My first quilt! This was made as wedding present for friends. It’s not perfect and I had quite a bit of help, some of it not as helpful as a cat thinks it is, but I’m really proud of what I accomplished. And my friends loved it.
Penrose quilt is officially finished! 2022-07-30 to 2023-04-02, all hand sewn by me and my mother.
It would figure that the Einstein would be found like a month before I finished this! Honestly probably for the best, the Einstein has too many concave angles.
We'll embroider patches for it soon but for now we're calling it, it still needs its first wash and I'll probably have to patch up some quilting after that.
Bee Quilt
The material has been hand dyed with turmeric, tea and onions skins. Then hand printed with lino cuts to represent the larvae, workers, drones and the single queen bee. The quilt was then then pieced, quilted and bound by hand.
The bees are arranged in a rough imitation of the structure of a hive: the queen is surrounded by workers, each drone and larvae are attended by their own workers, while others form a circle to represent a “bee dance” and some stand guard at the entrance to the hive.

This is still my 3rd quilt so I still have a lot to learn about using the machine but boy howdy was this lots of fun and I'm super proud of it. It's hand quilted and the weird shaped leaves and shrooms are applique.
