“I think I’d rather eat bugs with Geezer Sage,” Naruto complained with a groan.
After leaving Kakashi’s office following their lengthy conversation about her new mission, Sakura sought out her yellow-haired friend only to find him face down in the grass beside the river. He was fast asleep, drool pooling on top of the textbook he was using as a makeshift pillow. With a disapproving click of her tongue, she’d woken him up with a swift kick to his side before chastising him about not focusing on his studies.

It was a little over a week later when Sakura said a tearful goodbye to the Kusagakure medical team at the gates of the village with a promise that she would return soon. After weeks of training them, she had developed deep bonds with each of the medics, particularly with Tsumugi. Sakura smiled at the carefully wrapped pack she held in her hands as she headed down the path away from the village. Something for the road, Sakura-san, Tsumugi had said to her with a wink as she pressed the package into Sakura’s fingers.
