I swore I would do something for Inktober and Destinytober so I busted out my India inks and painted an Osiris Tarot Card.
The Hermit stands alone on the top of a Lighthouse. The Lighthouse symbolizes his spiritual mastery, growth, and accomplishment. He has chosen this path of self-discovery and, as a result, has reached a heightened state of awareness.
In his right hand, he holds a lantern with a pointed star inside, his ghost Sagira, a symbol of wisdom. As The Hermit walks his path, the lamp lights his way – but it only illuminates his next few steps rather than the full journey. He must step forward to see where to go next, knowing that not everything will be revealed at once. In his left hand, the side of the subconscious mind, The Hermit holds a solar blade (a sign of his power and authority), which he uses to guide and balance him.
UPRIGHT: Soul-searching, introspection, being alone, inner guidance
REVERSED: Isolation, loneliness, withdrawal

Logical reason for why Zavala is using Stasis: This power requires someone to exercise ultimate authority over other people, which suits someone with the rank of the Commander.
My reason: You can't teach him Strand. Zavala does knitting and crochet. He will inevitably try to use an elemental manifestation of Darkness that allows one to manipulate the Weave as a substitute for regular yarn and then pass out in the process.
