Dubbed by Vogue as "photography's alchemist," Horst P. Horst was known for his avante garde style in fashion photography and portraits of 20th century luminaries. But he was also known for his forays into Romanticism and Surrealism, shooting dramatic still life portraits, and collaborating with the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dalí.
