Why it’s great: This is a gorgeous story, with Arsenic’s usual gorgeous writing. It’s incredibly soft and sweet, and these two characters don’t get enough moments when they’re allowed to be soft and sweet. Jason bakes and takes care of Natasha, and Natasha allows herself to be taken care of, and the first fic especially is the sort of story you want to wrap yourself up in like a cozy blanket. The second story is a little more angsty, but features an Endgame fix-it and so many great cameos from both DC and Marvel.
Excerpt:
The look of horror that comes over his face for the quickest moment tells her that she’s gotten something very wrong, she’s just not sure what. He says, “That’s not what I’m doing here. This isn’t—Dick didn’t fuck off so I could seduce a woman who’s literally just been held in a modern-day dungeon with an infected wound and half her ribs busted.”
“Okay.” She puts as much confidence into the response as she’s able, seeing as how she believes him.
Jason rubs a hand over his face. “You tell anyone this, I’m never cooking for you again.”
“Consider me more than adequately threatened.”
“It’s…taking care of people is kind of a.” He shrugs. “It helps. It helps with the nightmares, it helps with the anger remnants from the pit, it just fucking helps, okay? And I’m bad at it with the other Bats because there’s a whole crap ton of water under all those bridges so shit gets said and then there’s yelling and I—the point is, this is something that helps me that I don’t have a ton of access to, and you presented an opportunity where I get to fuss and nobody gets hurt. That’s all, I promise.”
Softly, she tells him, “In that case, yeah, I think I’d like that bath.”

Title: Put Away Childish Things Author: arsenicjade Fandom/Pairing: MCU/OT9 (with references to larger comic-verse, but they are slight) Warnings: torture, child abuse of sorts Rating: R, mostly for violence Summary: Tony and Clint are captured by villains who can only get what they want from a child-Tony. So, obviously, they de-age him. Because comics. AN: Title taken from a CS Lewis quote. Huge thanks to forsweatervests, who had to beta this puppy three times, and egelantier for hand-holding and second-opinioning. All of the huge ass plotholes and other problems that are left? Me, all me. So, remember when fandom had an auction to help out victims of Hurricane Sandy? Yeah, well, the world's most patient auction recipient, arsenicmauls (ironic, a little) bought a fic of at least 5k by me. And we had this whole discussion where she said: Okay, so you know that trope that comes up a lot in H/C where one character just tries their best to be useful, all the time, to the point of completely misunderstanding what everyone expects from them and missing the part where they have actual friends, and it sometimes ends in a feels-splosion? I love that. Characters with shit self-esteem and submissive streaks a mile wide = a very happy me, and I basically exploded with glee and wrote 36k that took forever between the writing and the fixing. Basically: OMG, I really hope she likes this because for reals, best recip ever.
