Helpful blogs

  • The amazing @maiseey, who not only makes astonishing art and write an amazing fic, she also responds to medical questions and gives all kinds of references for writing medic characters.
  • @writebetterstarwars, which seems to be inactive, but there are a bunch of references there.
  • @howtofightwrite The place to find out how to write a good fight scene.
  • @scriptmedic no longer active, but it has a great deal of useful information.
  • @scripttorture for your whump needs. Major trigger warning for all its content.

Writing in General (For those who don’t want to die like Stormtroopers)

  • SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
  • ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I’ve ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, it gives +20 different in-depth reports for only the first 500 words for free. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn’t mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you’re writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And they just add a new feature, which just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit.
  • LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence, even if it doesn’t raise any flags; it’s very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn’t feel quite right.
  • Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.

I really wish Obi Wan would've had a kid so he could name them Obi Two

we don’t give obi-wan enough credit for the wrought iron balls he had to talk to maul like that. a guy world reknowned for overreacting to perceived slights asks him “anything more to say? before we get the ball rolling on me wiping the floor with you, does your smart ass have anything else you wanna spout off? i’ll seriously take any excuse to make this worse for you, i want you to do it, give me just one reason to kill you even harder” and obi-wan looks that dude in the eye and proceeds to call him short

i think possibly my favorite anakinism and one i think about a rather unhealthy amount is his body language and how he almost always looks viscerally uncomfortable and vaguely like a child who is scared of getting slapped. even when he’s being confrontational he looks sooo defensive like wow girl you have never fully processed anything that’s happened to you and you will carry the weight of it forever

u know something that must have happened a lot w the OT star wars trio

Luke: *insisting something that's very obviously latent force sensitivity is a 'totally normal experience' that 'happens to everyone*

Leia: *strenuously backing him up*

Han: *outnumbered and getting more & more mad about it*

actually bouncing off this post:

alternate scenario where the rebels continue to think the whole thing is a wacky coincidence and that Darth Vader has mistaken Luke for his actual long-lost son

decide this is too good an opportunity to pass up, send Luke in as an undercover agent

Luke ''''pretending'''' to be Darth Vader's son and faking going along w Vader's attempts to turn him to the dark side like yeah i love anger & hate let's do this. can you show me how you do that move where you throw people in the air with your brain.

he is secretly feeding information back to the rebellion all the time constantly

a number of Vader's underlings are pretty sure Luke is a rebel spy but everyone is too afraid of Vader to argue with him on it

Vader meanwhile is desperately trying to train Luke while keeping Palpatine from finding out his son is still alive. Luke wanders in while he's mid imperial conference call and gets tackled to the ground.

after a couple of months Vader decides Luke has had enough training for the 'we should kill the emperor and rule the galaxy together' speech

Luke (who has in a weird way kind of got to like Vader at this point) radioing the rebellion like guys call me crazy but i think we might be able to get this guy on side
