You know what I want? I want in the Justice League movie for Diana to see the Robin suit in the Batcave, ask about it and have Bruce walk away silently. I want later in the movie for her to say, “I’ve lost friends in wars before.” And I want Bruce to respond, in the most pained voice, “but have you ever lost a son?” I want Alfred talking about it with her, telling her what happened. I want acknowledgement of Jason Todd’s death as Robin in the Justice League movie.

Thinking about Dick Grayson’s rape by Tarantula in this chili’s tonight

You don’t understand. This was already one of the most traumatizing experiences of Dick, a man who has seen both his parents fall to their deaths when he was only about 12. Blockbuster has abused him for WEEKS prior, Dick lost his house and his girlfriend and people he knew and loved or even just any person he talked to.

He was already so broken, so utterly helpless and desperate, not knowing what to do. When Catalina shot blockbuster he stood aside but it killed him, it defied all his principles. It had broken him down even more. He was in the worst shape of his life.

And then, as if all of that weren’t bad enough, Catalina forced him to sleep with her. Raped him, clear and simple. He was so unbalanced, everything about him screamed that he obviously didn’t want to have sex, not to mention he literally told her not to touch him. She didn’t listen.

And THEN. THEN NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS. No proper treatment of the fact he was raped. Just fucking goes right on to the next arc, next story, next mission. Drown himself in work. Feel so utterly guilty for the death of Desmond. Hiding it all from Bruce.

No one knew, not his father, not Barbara, not anyone. Dick went through all of it alone and it was never fucking addressed. I’m just so fucking angry, man.

Writers feel like they have the full right to abuse their characters without ever actually dealing with it properly. Devin Grayson for YEARS denied that that was rape. She once said “it was just nonconcesual sex, not rape.”

It makes me SO mad. Dick Grayson has been through this horrible experience and it just has never been talked about and properly adressed.

And then both writers and fans feel free to make sexual comments about nightwing like he’s another sex object, doing it while he’s literally a rape victim
