Archaeology is nothing like Indiana Jones might have led you to believe. It's back-breaking, it's miserable, and it doesn't pay very well. Work scheduling is irregular, and often seasonal or weather-dependent. 95% of the time, you're not finding anything at all. I'm not saying archaeology isn't important. Of course it is! Historical and cultural preservation are essential, and if you care deeply about those things, archaeology may be the career for you.
