You know, there's a big part of me that wants to just shield Palestinian grief from the world.

Every day I find myself feeling less and less tolerant of the way videos are shared and circulated online of Palestinians- parents, sons, daughters, spouses - grieving in the most vulnerable way, and for that grief to be put on display under the guise of garnering sympathy.

We're 15 months into the most gruesome episode of our ongoing genocide, during which Gaza has unfortunately become the ground of the absolute most extreme scenarios we have historically witnessed. So the ugly truth is that you are not moving anyone new by showcasing people's most vulnerable and private moments of grief. Those who chose to be moved into action have already done so. All you're achieving is further dehumanising Palestinians.

Almost every Palestinian currently has or has had relatives in Israeli jails. Some are jailed for loose affiliation to certain groups whilst some are jailed for their activism against the occupation. There are many, however, that are jailed "just because." They've committed no crime. If they did, they certainly weren't indicted for any. Even the ones arrested and imprisoned for their activism rarely get indicted or if they do, it's on bullshit charges. Palestinians are also tried in military courts compared to Israelis who are tried in civilian courts. Israel can imprison anyone it likes for however long It likes "just because." This includes children. In the West Bank, Israel is the judge, jury, and executioner. It effectively runs a police state through its occupation. According to Bt'Selem's statistics from June 2024, Israel currently holds over 9, 000 Palestinian prisoners, with over 3, 000 who are "administrative detainees" i.e. held without charge or trial. It gets even more sinister when you consider the conditions inside Israeli jails, how many "confessions" are extracted through torture, how many prisoners are raped and tortured to death. So much of this is conveniently left out or falsely reframed as "innocent hostages vs criminal prisoners" when people call for the release of the hostages. I want the hostages to be home with their loved ones as soon as possible but the thousands of Palestinian prisoners deserve the same as well.

#my comrade’s cousin (24) was abducted from her home in the middle of the night and taken to an israeli prison where she was held without#charge or trial for 8 months#she was just released on december 5th#during those 8 month israeli authorities would not tell layan’s family where she was being held or even if she was still alive#and this is like… the best outcome anyone could’ve reasonably hoped for

oh god, my thoughts are with their families. i'm also glad she was finally released. the exact same thing happened to my cousin 6 months or so ago where he was abducted by the iof in the middle of the night whilst on his way home from work. my uncle's family know where he is but he hasn't even had his trial yet because they keep cancelling and moving his court dates. so he's also been in Israeli prison for months on end now for no reason at all. he was imprisoned before so he is known to them but that's about it.

there's few things i hate more than people watering down what it means to be antizionist. it's in the fucking name. if you believe there's any capacity to reconcile palestinian liberation with the existence of israel you're not an antizionist, you might as well take that watermelon emoji out of your bio.

it is not enough to be "pro-palestine," we're over a year into a live broadcasted genocide, recognizing and denouncing the genocide and siding with its victims is the bare minimum and should be the standard at this point. after 15 months of live streamed genocide, you'd think that would prompt people to investigate what led us to this point, how we all failed palestinians, and what it means to truly stand by them, but no not really. some dumb fucking cunts really think they're well and truly antizionist by advocating for a ceasefire and politely asking israel to pull their rabid, bloodthirsty settlers out of the westbank. as if the settler colonialism started in '67, and the ethnic cleansing that preceded is always either left not acknowledged or outright justified.

palestinian liberation means the abolition of the settler colonial, apartheid nation state that is israel, and giving the land back to its rightful owners, nothing less, not even an inch less.

i don't wanna sound hopeless but i feel like so many of you don't care or have stopped caring about palestine.

the news of hospitals being bombed, children being massacred, people dying from the cold, and the famine spreading in gaza does not seem enough to grab attention or make people care.

what new tragedy needs to befall gaza for you to start talking about it? the occupation kills a child every few minutes. people are cold and are starving. refugee camps are being bombed with bombs that can level city blocks.

this all happens because of all of us. we are complicit in this genocide because our governments use the taxes we pay to send weapons to the occupation. weapons that are used to kill children and impose a blockade that is starving 2 million people.

the very fact that we're still going about our days when all of this is going on breaks my heart. especially because we have failed to stop our governments from using our money to arm israel.

i urge you, please be generous and donate to suad and her baby khaled. he is just six months old and suad is unable to find any formula for him. if she finds anything, it is extremely expensive. the baby also needs warm clothes and is suffering from a respiratory problem and needs a nebulizer.

Baby Ayla and her family were in their tent today when the IOF suddenly appeared and began firing on the tents. The family barely escaped with their lives, a bullet having narrowly missed baby Ayla’s head!

They had to leave their tent and most of their possessions, which are now under IOF control and are irrecoverable.

They are currently on the street, with no tent, no blankets, no food, and no clothes other than what they were wearing when they had to flee for their lives. They are literally just sitting in the dirt under the night sky.

Ayla’s mother Bashaer @bshaeromars-blog is trying to get Ayla to sleep, but Ayla is too cold and uncomfortable. The low temperature in Gaza tonight is just 47 F or 8 C. They are starving, freezing, and totally without resources. They DESPERATELY need funds for a tent, food, and other basic necessities!! The tent alone is $3000
