blog about what you love and don’t let strangers on the internet ruin it for you

…English
If you're an adult...
You are allowed to read comic books. You are allowed to write fanfiction. You are allowed to play video games. You are allowed to collect stuffed animals, dolls, Funko Pops and whatever else. You are allowed to go to cons. You are allowed to cosplay. You are allowed to have a comfort show, even if it's not popular, or hasn't been "on the air" for decades. You are allowed to have anime crushes. You are allowed to have fun. You are allowed to pursue hobbies, even if you can't monetize them or turn them into a career or a "side hustle." You are allowed to take time out for yourself; that's not the same as totally neglecting all your responsibilities to their detriment. You are allowed to write your own life script, instead of following the one your parents and culture mapped out for you at birth. You are allowed to decide you don't want to have children, or don't want to get married. (Or that you'd like to do those things someday, but not today.) You are allowed to go at your own pace, on your own path. You're allowed to have a life that's not all bills and back pain, fatigue and drudgery. You are allowed to play, as well as work.
friendly reminder that you’re allowed to enjoy things even though you’re chronically ill or disabled. you don’t owe it to anyone to deprive yourself of fun just to look “consistent.” play that game, work on that hobby, play with pets, go on that outing if it’s a good day. you deserve to enjoy as much of this life as you possibly can.
caring about stuff and being passionate about it is not and should not be seen as embarrassing. it’s heckin’ great. good for you, out there loving something.
Suggestion: Realize that you’re never too old for anything that fills you with joy. Just go ahead and do it, regardless of what anyone else may have to say.
"Get out of your comfort zone!"
Dude, I'm autistic; what is this "comfort zone" of which you speak? Sounds lovely; why would I want to leave it? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
true or false, everyone should be making their best effort 100% of the time, it’s lazy to do otherwise.
excellent! now true or false: leisure time is only valuable if you spend it productively. if you are not creating something or enriching yourself, you are just wasting time.
terrific work!
so logically, you can stop feeling guilty about “wasting” time on “useless” things, because it’s neither wasteful nor useless if you enjoy it.
no!!!! no that is not the message you are supposed to take from this! Bad tumblr!!!!
Yknow, when you keep insisting that adults can’t enjoy fandom or play video games or watch cartoons or whatever, it’s other young people that you’re hurting the most. Because the most you’ll do to adults is offend or annoy them with that nonsense, but when you plant that idea in a kid’s head, they grow older with the horrible dread looming over them that the things that bring them happiness and comfort have an expiration date. When I was a young adult, I was genuinely depressed about the thought of getting older because I thought I couldn’t keep enjoying all my hobbies, like I had to give up everything I love once I reach [x] age.
And that is simply not true. It’s bullshit. But the harm is does to people is very real. Kids are so afraid of getting older, and one of the big fears is that their life will become painfully bland and boring once they hit adulthood, as if all adults do is work and pay taxes, possibly raise kids. No more fun, no whimsy, no playfulness, no joy.
Anyway, I’m 33 and I love video games and fanfiction and cartoons. If you tell me I’m too old for that stuff, I’ll roll my eyes and block you and go on with my day. But I will worry about the 17 year old who saw your post too and feels a sinking in their chest at the thought that they have to give up the stuff that makes them happy. THAT’S what bothers me.
pokemon delinquent is honestly my favorite NPC ever
cringe culture is just adult neurotypicals perpetuating the same bullying they did to classmates in school, except now they get millions of views for it
Did you know that your interests are really cool?? The stuff that you find fascinating and the little facts you know aren’t lame. They’re what make you passionate and that’s a really cool thing
