Ok so this is gonna be a very short report as most of the actual infos are already on tumblr (additional cast and airing announcement)
The author, Kubo Mitsurou-san is the funniest person ever (I swear, I love her) and she wanted us to know a few things before the anime airs
First of all, Maeno’s character (Italian guy) is a virgin. She said it probably wouldn’t be said in the anime but it’d be obvious and she wanted us all to keep it in mind.
Nojima-san’s character (Korean guy) has a super lame fashion sense and was the kind of guy who couldn’t wear anything besides sportswear without looking ridiculous.
Suwabe commented that people would all mix things up in their reports on social networks and it would end up as “Maeno is a virgin” and “Nojima-san has a lame fashion sense”
Kubo-san also commented on Ucchi and Tosshi’s relationship, saying that at first she picked them for their respective roles unknowingly, based only on their voices but then she researched a bit on the net and found out the two were close. Close enough that “Ucchi only opens his heart to Tosshi” and decided that it HAD to be them because it’d be funny to have their characters be in bad term when the two of them are actually super friendly irl.
She also said that Suwabe was the one and only choice to portray Viktor’s sexyness but that he really stood out during the audition in a strange way. All the others were rehearsing Viktor’s serious lines while Suwabe kept doing one line over and over again : “AMAZING !”. He even did it live using Viktor’s voice.
About the things to pay attention to while watching, Kubo-san was clear : it’s the sexy-ness of the characters. It seem like they made a point of portraying it the best they could, in “a way that wouldn’t lose, even to bishoujo (pretty girl) anime”. The cast said they all went “is this really gonna be ok for Fuji TV to air?” after seeing some of the scenes.
That’s about all with the interesting stuff. Let me just add that FukuJun is super sweet, he kept looking to people in the audience and smiling/waving and doing ridiculous cute moves when standing.
ALSO, as @pinkubakaneko mentioned in her post before the most amazing thing ever happened to us after the event when we just ran into the four of them on their way out of the summer station festival.
