Hey, if you're the op who made the post, I sincerely apologize. If you don't want that kind of addition i can delete it, no problem.

I love merthur and i love destiel too, and I added that scene from spn to make a comparison between the two ships. It wasn't meant to take anything away from the original post, but my intention was to give it a new light in addition (as people do on this site) by drawing a parallel with another piece of media. A lot of destiel fans love merthur too and i thought the op could get more reblogs and likes on their gif this way (reaching another fandom too).

I know how to make my own posts, I did plenty of them, actually.

What i don't know how to do is gifs, and i have deep appreciation for people who make them, and it is my understanding that they like exposure for their posts, so that their hard work can reach more people.

This is why i reblogged it.

My tags on the reblog were about both ships, i didn't deviate from the original post ignoring it to only talk about another ship (which would've been rude), so i didn't think it could be offensive in any way.

We make a sport of hijacking posts and sending them in wildly unexpected directions. Pick any Heritage post and it's exactly that. Just off the fucking rails. Once you post a thing, you have relinquished control of it. That's just the way it works. And anyone can at any time reblog a previous version without any add on they don't care for or agree with. It takes literally nothing away from OP to add something to a post. And this OP is lucky the reblog addition wasn't just fucking nonsense.

Anon, if you're OP, you have a very skewed understanding of how things work here. Stop harassing this person, follow more people, accept that you can't control the internet, and go outside and touch some fucking grass.

Also, putting your thoughts in the tags is a relatively new thing. We started doing it as a way to whisper a joyous "OH PRETTY" so that there wasn't a massive chain of reblogs that just said "OH PRETTY!" "my beloved" "mood", etc, that people would have to scroll and scroll and scroll to get past. The thought essays were put in a reblog, but eventually started moving to the tags. Especially when tag searching became less accurate and more bullshit, so we didn't really care what was ending up in the tags. So like... reblogging something and adding your thoughts, sharing comparisons to other things, adding another gif (especially if it's a supernatural gif, like that's a whole-ass culture thing here that has sadly faded out of fashion), is how we use this site.

And here’s why:

Presumably, you’re reposting because you either:

a) don’t have access to the video that’s gif’d because you don’t know where it’s from or you don’t know how to download it. Which already proves that making gifs is difficult because of the time spent video hunting and downloading. (You’d be surprised how hard it is to download videos from certain websites.)

b) don’t have access to photoshop, because you’re not sure how to download it, or you do have it but don’t know how to work it. Which again, proves making gifs is difficult because it’s more than just right clicking then saving as (which is what reposting is - so if you catch yourself doing this, stop!) You have to learn how to use photoshop to actually make a gif, and to actually use photoshop you have to know how and where to download it. Some people even pay for it, and it’s extremely unfair to those that do because something they essentially paid for is getting stolen from them.

Gifs are not even just about being able to do the basic load files into stacks or import layers from frames, whichever method of gif making you prefer. Nope. It’s about coloring as well, which makes your gif unique and different from someone else’s. People spend time making their gifs look nice in addition to spending their time looking for the right video and whatnot.

So have some respect for people that do their best to provide you with pretty gifs on your dashboard to reblog >:(

(No, it does not count if you repost someone’s gif and “give credit”, especially if the source is “it’s not mine but I found it on Google”. Tumblr made a beautiful function called a REBLOG. Use it. It’s your best friend.)

Next time you say, “everyone reposts” or “they’re just gifs”, keep in mind making gifs isn’t actually as easy as some people belittle it to be! Try making gifs for yourself and see how hard it is. Really, try.

(And if you’re thinking, “oh making gifs is so easy! I’ve tried it!” then it literally costs you $0.00 to make your own gifs and gain notes through your own hard work. Seriously. Stop taking credit for someone else’s hard work.)

Stopping reposts can happen if you take a step to stop yourself from reposting and letting others know why it’s bad too. If no one tells you what you’re doing is wrong, how would you know what you’re doing isn’t right? One by one, we can all eventually stop reposting because it’s very disrespectful to artists (yes, gif makers are considered artists too). If you want notes, earn them yourself just like how every original content makers do. And even if you can’t make anything yourself, don’t be mean. Support people’s works.

(This applies to everyone that makes original content, fan art, fan fiction, graphics, etc. The steps in between to make them are different, but reposts effect all of us the same. Please stop reposting and respect the artists.)

@frustrated-writer-skyeknight {tumblr user "IzzyIzumi" here on my old Main blog} I'm glad if other Taishiro[u] fans, old or new are interested in it again, but you are using gifs from my gifsets that I worked really hard on in this post and also posted this in the tag, which I follow actively. I assume you found them through Tumblr's "Image Search" function or while using the mobile app. I do not allow re-posting of my gifs without permission. If you've seen any of my posts in the tags, it's pretty hard to miss my large banners and text stating this on all my gif and other posts. I don't mind being asked to use my gifs but I have rules for their usage, so please ask me in the future before using a gif from "IzzyIzumi".

I would have sent this in a message, but you have all forms of commenting turned off. In the future, someone wondering can ask me by sending Asks to this or my "IzzyIzumi" blog.

I do not consider them a "BL" genre ship, I ship them more seriously then just as a "genre" and prefer the term{s} "LGBTQIAPN+", "Queer", "MLM" (Men-loving-Men) etc be used in relation with the ship and my gifs instead of "BL", "Yaoi", etc.

They are also not meant to be used "against" KouMi{mi} / Mishiro. (I don't mind if it's a simple "I used to ship it" but please do not actively use my gifs against that ship on new posts in the future.)

i just wanted to clarify some things

artists know the risk they are taking when they post their art online. people are inevitably going to take it apart, color edit it, flip it around or otherwise post it uncredited.

saying that an artist shouldn’t post their work if they don’t want it bastardized is probably the stupidest stance on this subject you could take. if all artists followed this line of reasoning, there would be no art on the internet.

when an artist posts their work, they are trusting you to enjoy it respectfully. and when you betray that trust either knowingly or unknowingly, it’s like saying the artist’s time, skills and thoughts aren’t worth anything.

you are NOT entitled to an artists work just because they decided to trust you enough to share it with you.

an artist is within their right to feel upset that someone has used their work in a way they never intended it to be used. they are within their right to ask for it to stop and not happen again.

just because it’s “bound to happen” doesn’t mean it’s any less deplorable.

A dressing room is like joining a RP game without the stress and commiment of activity checks and applications. It kinda works like Dear_Mun only you can actually carry on plots and play on your own schedule there! It’s super fun and a great way to spend those long boring summer days!

This DR is setting is in a mysterious place called “Headquarters”, a building that kidnaps Hetalia characters from all universes. Anything can happen in HQ; stepping into an unknown room can have dramatic effects such as random genderbending, compulsive truth-telling, and more! However, don’t feel limited by HQ. You can post anything you want! (as long as you’re not disrespectful or otherwise breaking the rules, of course.)
